An Easter Outfit for Winter Weather & Spread The Kindness Link Up On the Edge #801
Easter is supposed to bring images of spring, prompting us to dress accordingly in our favorite warm weather apparel in soft pastels or bright joyful colors. But what do you do when it’s still winter on Easter? Well, obviously, you make some wardrobe adjustments. The most common colors used in Easter celebrations are purple, white, gold, and pastels. Since pastels are generally reserved for warm weather clothes, I leaned into bright, bold purples for my winter Easter outfit. Traditionally, the color purple has been associated with royalty and power, but in the context of the Easter holiday, it symbolizes the divinity of Jesus. The color also represents penance which is…

Big Blanket Love & Spread The Kindness Link Up On the Edge #800
If you recall, I shared some of my favorite Christmas gifts back in January including this Big Blanket Premier Plush™ Wrap in Moss. Since this wrap is considered loungewear, I have been wearing it primarily at home while lounging. It hadn’t immediately occurred to me that I can wear it outside of the house as a cozy topper for cold weather. Once I remembered that I am not generally a person who adheres strictly to labels, I decided I needed to create an outside outfit with my Big Blanket as the focal point. Before I get to the outfit, let me tell you some stuff about this amazing Big Blanket…

A Boho Twist on FJackets Purple Leather Coat & Spread The Kindness Link Up On the Edge #799
Recently, I was invited by FJackets to review a leather coat of my choice and I was more than happy to accept the invitation. I received this jacket in exchange for my honest opinion of the product. However, to ensure authenticity of my review, I have not been compensated in any other way. FJackets began in 2013 as a small startup focused on creating high-quality leather jackets for U.S. customers. By 2017, they had expanded their inventory to include leather bags, pants, and wallets. In 2021, FJackets began offering their products internationally and added belts, leather shorts, varsity jackets, wool coats, T-shirts, and even vegan jackets to their product line,…

Adventures in Thrifting Part 23: Purple Robe with Teal Accessories & Spread The Kindness Link Up On the Edge #798
You know how much I love a good thrifting adventure. Searching through the racks for unique and interesting pieces brings me so much joy. You know how much I also love my robes and kimonos. So when I find one in a thrift store, I get so darn excited. It is very difficult for me to resist adding more robes and kimonos to my wardrobe so I really don’t resist anymore. I just buy them all and my closet room is becoming a giant collection of robes, kimonos, ruanas, ponchos, dusters, and long flowy topper pieces as a result. I just can’t get enough, it seems, considering I added five…

Spring Living Room Decor & Spread The Kindness Link Up On the Edge #797
I have some more DIY, upcycled, and thrifted home decor inspiration to share. With the weather consistently foiling my plans for outdoor outfit photographs, I have to resort to pictures from inside my home until the snow and rain stop. Last month, I shared my Valentine-inspired living room decor but it was time to make a change as spring is so near that you can smell it. The bulky blanket scarf window treatments started feeling a bit too heavy for this time of year. I had contemplated returning to the brown and teal decor that preceded my raggy Christmas decor but it kind of felt a bit old and tired…

Peregrine Falcon or Bald Eagle? & Spread The Kindness Link Up On the Edge #796
Ever since gifting myself this amazing bird cardigan for Christmas, I have been wanting to share it with you but the weather has been so very uncooperative these last few months. Between mountains of snow and record breaking cold temperatures, I have been only photographing my outfits for preplanned style challenges. While I do wear those style challenge outfits in real life, my typical everyday winter look is something more like this…leggings, a tee shirt, a lightweight cardigan, a heavy cardigan, a scarf, a hat, and boots. As I mentioned in my Christmas gift post, I have been wearing this gorgeous sweater with weekly regularity but there was some discrepancy…

Adventures in Thrifting Part 22: Green Gingham Shirt Dress & Spread The Kindness Link Up On the Edge #795
In the month since my last Adventures in Thrifting post, I have acquired a few really lovely preloved pieces that have been begging to be shared. But the weather has been less than cooperative for showcasing my thrifty outfit creations. I took advantage of the milder weather we had this past weekend and was able to photograph five new outfits. Three of them are for upcoming style challenges and two are just for some extra content. This one falls into the latter category. I have enough clothing in my closet room to create endless combinations and probably never repeat the same exact one twice, yet I tend to spend day…

Number Nerd & Spread The Kindness Link Up On the Edge #794
I have been a nerd about numbers for my entire life. When I was a child, I obsessively counted things and seemed to attach different emotions to various numbers. For example, even numbers cause me anxiety while odd numbers make me feel calmer. I have never figured out the reason but here I am in my 50s still being a great big number nerd. I also still obsessively count things. The counting began early and came in handy when I was a competitive swimmer. I counted every stroke for every lap that I swam. The counting not only made the workouts more interesting but I also couldn’t see that well…

February Decor & Spread The Kindness Link Up On the Edge #793
As I mentioned last Friday, we have been experiencing record-breaking cold temperatures as low as -48˚F (-44.4˚C) and it is still snowing nearly every day. Even when my weather app indicates no snow in the forecast, I look out the window and, sure enough, it’s snowing. As my kids say, “The snow is great until Christmas. After Christmas, it’s just annoying.” Honestly, the only nice thing about new snow this time of year is that it covers all the dirty snow banks with a fresh coat of pristine white. But then I start moving the snow off the sidewalks and driveway and it is all black and nasty again. Spring…

My Winter Workout Routine: The Snow Shovel Shuffle & Spread The Kindness Link Up On the Edge #792
My winter workout routine. This is it, right here. Just me and my shovel named Sunshine doing the snow shovel shuffle. I have done it almost every morning this month and I can feel it in every muscle. Some days, I have shoveled 3-4 times though the course of the day just keep up with it. When the snow piles get too high to toss the snow on top, that’s when the snow shovel shuffle kicks in. Squat, scoop, stand, and shuffle the snow one shovel full at a time to a different location. I will never understand why we use the term “snow removal” when there is no removing.…
