Jerry Pipes by JPDavesCreations
Today is Jeff’s birthday and I found the perfect gift for his first post-Army retirement birthday. When he turned 40 last year, he was an active duty infantry soldier in the United States Army and was not permitted to engage in the use of marijuana products. However, my husband has been a true pothead and Grateful Dead fan since he was a teenager. And now that he has officially retired from military service, he can not only smoke the pot at his leisure, but he can also smoke it publicly now that it is also legal in New York as well as 17 other states, Washington, D.C., and Guam. As…

As you begin planning your next trip, consider these five elements in your decision making process to ensure that you will have the best possible vacation. 1. Where do you want to go? Styling My Mother’s Day Gifts & Link Up On the Edge #296
Happy Friday, y’all! Today I wanted to share with you the gorgeous gifts I received from my boys for Mother’s Day this year. Jeff took the boys to Rainbow Zen, my favorite store for all things bohemian and hippie, and he let them choose some things that they thought I would like. It is not a difficult task, however, to find things that I would like in Rainbow Zen since I like everything in that store. You can see some of the clothing and home decor items that I have purchased there if you just search “Rainbow Zen” on my blog. The boys went shopping the day before Mother’s Day…

Star Wars & Your Own Twist Link Up #44
Star Wars Day was celebrated two weeks ago on May 4 by Star Wars fans in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and several other nations around the world. The inspiration for choosing May 4 as the official Star Wars Day celebration comes from the popular line used by Jedi Masters in the Star Wars movies. “May the force be with you” has been punned right into the official Star Wars Day greeting, “May the fourth be with you”. Since the release of the first Star Wars film in 1977, fans became so obsessed that May 4 quickly caught on as the unofficial day for celebrating all things Star…

The Thrifty Six are Ballerina Inspired
It was Nancy’s turn to choose our thrifty style theme for May and she really threw me for a loop with Ballerinas. Although I do love a good tulle skirt, I have never really been a ballerina type of girl. In fact, I have only allowed myself to start dancing where other people can see me in the last few years. Before that, just the idea of dancing any dance was completely out of my comfort zone. Maybe I would bounce around my house a little here and there, but in public places I would merely sit and watch all the other people having a great time moving their bodies…

The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Birds & Feathers
Welcome to The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book! This is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book. A series that I co-host with Nancy where you can choose whether you want to share a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye (which is an item you are going to say good-bye to, previously known as a Bad Buy). Every month you can choose which item you want to submit. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide the theme for each month. Photos should be submitted to us by the 10th of the month with a few sentences explaining why it is a Good Buy or Good-Bye. The theme for May is Birds and Feathers. *If…

Happy Birthday, Cheese God & Link Up On the Edge #295
We celebrated Archie’s 11th birthday this past weekend, a week late due to some scheduling conflicts. My children’s birthday cakes have become a thing of jokes and humor ever since Ralph’s coronavirus cake back in March of 2020. I have never been one to throw big elaborate birthday parties for my children. I have kept it simple with pizza and cake at my house since the beginning. But I have always indulged their silly cake whims and therefore I splurge on the cake from our favorite local baker who shall remain unnamed and untagged in this post upon her request. We both recognize that Archie’s “Cheese God” cake may be…
