The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Birds & Feathers

Welcome to The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book!

This is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book. A series that I co-host with Nancy where you can choose whether you want to share a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye (which is an item you are going to say good-bye to, previously known as a Bad Buy). Every month you can choose which item you want to submit. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide the theme for each month. Photos should be submitted to us by the 10th of the month with a few sentences explaining why it is a Good Buy or Good-Bye.

The theme for May is Birds and Feathers

*If you sent me a photo, but do not see it in my post, be sure to check Nancy’s post. If you don’t see your photo on either post, please let us know right away and we will add it. Sometimes the submissions can get lost in the shuffle.

Now let’s check out some of the favorite (or least favorite) feathery and bird inspired things submitted this month for some spring inspiration.

“This is a Good Buy top! I bought it preloved and it has such a darling print. And fabulous sleeves. There is a little red in the top that comes back in the espadrilles and my ancient red necklace. Although this look is a bit older, I don’t have the skirt anymore, I still love it. Those birds really cheer me up!” -Nancy

“This feather print cami was gorgeous and got a lot of love, but after my second pregnancy it didn’t fit well anymore and I had to say goodbye to it.” -Laura

“As a lover of both birds and scarves, I have several bird print scarves in my collection. This lightweight one with the white background and the bird/tree print in primary colors is a fun one to wear with black, blue, or red in warm weather. The large scale print makes it easy to use in a print mix. It’s definitely a Good Buy!” -Sally

“I know you said you don’t like actual birds very much, but I love when they come to visit me. I’m attaching a photo of my feeders I thought you might like to see. On the top bird feeder is a dove, and a squirrel is on top of the bottom feeder, which is for them. I get quite the variety throughout the day. Up close, they scare me a little bit too being unpredictable, but they’re so fun to watch.” -Alexandra
(Be sure to check out Alexandra’s adorable bird tee on Nancy’s post).

“I bought this cardigan sometime in the Before Times. I love a good toile print, and I really liked the colors, too. Up until a few years ago, anything that had birds or butterflies on it were automatically out of the running for purchase. I still won’t buy butterflies but birds have grown on me!” -Marsha

“I have only the one top with feathers which was a very good buy. I bought it from Poshmark and it’s one of my favorites. I love the color, design, and tailoring.” -Michelle

“While I have never purposely purchased something to participate in the Good bye/ Good buy challenge before, I did this time. I was hoping to style this new chiffon poncho for spring with a tank top and some cute capri pants but the weather has not been cooperating. I paired it with some of my favorite jeggings, boots and a long sleeved shirt and I think I will be getting lots of use out of this comfy cute top and I just love the bird print!” -Joanne

“I’m sending over my Good buy for the birds!! The only ones I had were scarves, so I tried to wear them differently between yours and Nancy’s post. Who knew at my advanced age that I’d be showing off my tummy, haha??” -Jodie
And Me and My Bird Things
“I decided to share all of my bird inspired accessories as Good Buys! Counter clockwise from the top left corner…gold owl pin, hair bands with feather adornments, gold feather necklace and earring set, wooden phoenix earrings, silver feather earrings, leather feather necklace and earrings, birds on a branch necklace, and red feather earrings.” -Shelbee
And here is my owl pin in action on my blazer pocket.

Be sure to head on over to Nancy’s post to see more bird inspired outfits!
