The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Band Tees

I am so excited for this month’s theme of Band Tees and sharing the very cool looks that were submitted featuring a variety of musical inspiration as well as a super creative take on the theme by Daenel!

Welcome to The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book!

The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book is a series that I co-host with Nancy where you can choose whether you want to share a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye (which is an item you are going to say good-bye to, previously known as a Bad Buy). Every month you can choose which item you want to submit, a Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide the theme for each month. Photos should be submitted to us by the 10th of the month with a few sentences explaining why it is a Good Buy or Good-Bye.

The theme for October is Band Tees where you all were invited to share your favorite (or least favorite) tops that represent your musical inclinations and inspirations. However, we have no strict rules here really, we just want you to play along, so all themes are open to your own personal interpretation! And I do love when someone shares a fun spin on any theme. So let’s get straight to it and have a look at all the band-inspired tee shirts and tops.

*If you sent me a photo, but do not see it in my post, be sure to check Nancy’s post. If you don’t see your photo on either post, please let us know right away and we will add it. Sometimes the submissions can get lost in the shuffle.

Let’s see who joined us this time!

“Although this isn’t a original concert tee, it’s a h&m sorry, I have seen The Rolling Stones 5 years ago. And it was magnificent! What a energy, fantastic. I have always loved them and grew up with their music. But it is not my number one band. You can read about that on my blog where I show another band tee, also not from my number one band!”

Sheila of Ephemera

“This tee is a souvenir from a trip to Portland, Oregon in 2019 – Lydia Loveless opened for the Mountain Goats. I have never worn this tee in public before, but I’ve worn it at least 50 times – I sleep in my band tees! It was a good buy, as I remember how much fun that trip was!”

Jodie of Jodie’s Touch of Style

I love that Jodie borrowed a tee for this challenge and that it is an MTV shirt instead of a specific band tee. Fun!

“I cheated on this one because I didn’t want to be left out, haha. I borrowed this tee from my friend, Cathie (@cathiescloset) and I hope it counts!!”

Daenel of Living Outside the Stacks

Danael was so creative with this challenge, taking a homophonic path and representing her love of books, that I literally cannot stop smiling! What a magnificent Banned Tee!

“Here’s my submission for next month’s Good Buy/Bad Bye. I know it’s band tees, but I chose a banned tee, in honor of Banned Books Week.”

And Me!
“I have worn my Fireside Collective tee many times in the past few years but I recently realized that I absolutely hate crew neck tee shirts on me. This tee is a men’s XL so I passed it onto Jeff and now he wears it on almost a weekly basis. So maybe not the best buy for me (although it was not bought, but gifted to me by the band for helping them out at their merchandise table at a festival a few years ago). It is an overall Good Buy, however, since Jeff and I have both worn it lots!”

“When I went on my annual road trip to North Carolina in February, I bought these two hoodies at the Umphrey’s McGee concert in Asheville. This one is a pullover tee shirt hoodie with a kangaroo pocket in front. I actually bought this one for Jeff but it was a little tight on him so I kept it for myself. I wear it mostly for lounging but not as frequently as the black one.”
-Shelbee
“This black hoodie has a zipper front and regular side pockets and is literally the most worn garment in my entire wardrobe. I wear it nearly everyday and yet I have never taken a photograph of myself wearing it. This is definitely one of the best Good Buys I ever purchased. It is so soft and comfortable and I fear I am going to wear it out long before I am ready to part with it. I am looking forward to my next North Carolina road trip this February and hopefully Umphrey’s McGee will be playing in town again. They have been performing in Asheville the last three times I was there so I am hoping to see them again to get a new hoodie!”
