Restyled: Brown and White Split Legged Trousers & Spread the Kindness Link Up On the Edge #824
Although summer doesn’t officially end for 12 more days, it seems like September brings out all the fall feels long before the weather reflects it. I get in the mood for autumn clothing weeks before it gets cool enough to wear them. So this is the time of year when lightweight fabrics in fall colors really come in handy. You can create an outfit with an autumnal vibe but still remain cool in the heat of the late summer sun. If you stopped by last Friday, you might recognize the brown and white split legged trousers peeking from beneath my chocolate brown maxi dress. This outfit is sort of the…

Adventures in Thrifting Part 32: Blue Pineapple Dress
I just realized that I have been highlighting my preloved wardrobe pieces in this Adventures in Thrifting series for almost 5 years! Clearly, I don’t post these with any sort of regular frequency, otherwise, it probably would have way more than 32 parts. Oh well. Here goes number 32… I found this adorable navy blue pineapple dress back in the early spring but had to wait until the summer weather arrived to wear it. I styled this look at the end of June to keep cool in the immense heat and humidity that blanketed us for most of the summer. I even contemplated wearing this outfit for the 4th of…

Something Old, Something New & Spread the Kindness Link Up On the Edge #823
But nothing borrowed and nothing blue. Just a whole bunch of brown and white. With school beginning yesterday, I thought today’s outfit share should feature some of my former school colors. I never really liked any of my school colors during the years I was in school, but now many of those color combinations appeal to me. My elementary school colors were blue and gold (aka yellow), my high school colors were black and gold (also yellow), my college colors were brown and white, and my graduate school colors were red and white. But these days, you can mostly find me donning purple and white…my kids’ school colors. Back in…

Let’s Talk About LeMuse Linen Dresses from Lithuania
Recently, I was invited to collaborate with LeMuse, a clothing line that was founded in Vilnius, Lithuania, in 2010, that specializes in handmade linen apparel for women. In exchange for my thoughts, I was gifted one article of clothing of my choice to style and share with you all, my friends and loyal readers. I want to preface this review with a bit about brand collaborations and how I decide which ones are relevant to me and my wardrobe. Since I’ve been focusing much more on slow fashion in an effort to combat the negative environmental impacts of fast fashion, I’m much more particular when accepting a brand invitation. I…

Style Imitating Art | Rooster and Hen with Hydrangeas by Itō Jakuchū
This rooster and hen painting sent me into a bit of styling mania! I was so inspired by the beauty of the colors, lines, and subject matter, that I created three different outfits for this round of dress up. I’m going to focus on just one outfit, the one that I think best captures the feeling of the artwork, but you can see photos of all three right above. About Style Imitating Art Style Imitating Art is hosted by Salazar of 14 Shades of Grey, Shelbee of Shelbee on the Edge, and Marsha of Marsha in the Middle. Adventures in Thrifting Part 31: The Third and Final (For Now) Jumpsuit & Spread the Kindness Link Up On the Edge #819
The past two Fridays, I have shared newly thrifted jumpsuits so I wanted to finish the weekly series with the third and final (for now) preloved jumpsuit. The first was an oversized white jumpsuit with a groovy floral pattern and the second was a cropped length solid black jumpsuit. And now this one…which I’ve named the cow-giraffe print jumpsuit. I know I had referred to the groovy floral print one as “the best jumpsuit ever” but this cow-giraffe print may have inched into the lead for my favorite. I love the neutral colors for a more earthy vibe and I find the unique abstract pattern to be rather eye-catching. So…
