Black and White Pajama Outfit Restyled
Last week, I shared how I transitioned my Bridgerton Brunch outfit to a summer boho look with a few simple changes to my accessories. This week, I wanted to share another easy outfit restyle featuring the black and white nightgown that I shared with you all on Tuesday. This restyle was really quick and easy. We were going out to dinner the day I wore the first styling and it was getting cooler as the evening hours approached. Plus air conditioning in restaurants often makes me too cold when I’m wearing my lightweight summer layers. So I decided to add this oversized open knit black and white sweater. I have…

Walmart Pajama Style Take 3: Same Nightgown, Different Print
I really prefer my fashion to be a tad bit slower than the one season throw-away products offered by fast fashion retailers. But Walmart is being cute and enticing me to break my own code of style ethics! When I buy fast fashion items, I try to counteract the long term effects of such purchases by wearing those pieces for many years instead of discarding them in favor of the next new trend. Since I am not much of a fad follower anyway, it’s fairly easy to accomplish this goal. Until my closet gets too overwhelmed with new additions. Then some closet weeding is needed…which I just did this weekend.…

Adventures in Thrifting Part 27: Crazy Orange Culottes & Spread the Kindness Link Up On the Edge #815
Do you remember my Bohemian Fruit Bowl outfit from two weeks ago? It featured a newly thrifted tie dyed dress in safety orange layered over my yellow and green geometric print bell bottom pants. I mistakenly mentioned in that post that I had styled the orange dress over these crazy orange culottes that I found on the same thrifting adventure. It turns out that I tried the two pieces on together in the thrift store and at home but then I never photographed the outfit. Instead, I ended up photographing this wild combination. I wore this outfit out for a lunch date with my husband a few weekends ago and…

From Bridgerton to Boho, Regency to Rodeo
Whether it’s Bridgerton-inspired, bohemian, Western, Lolita, goth, preppy, steampunk, or any other style genre you can name, you can easily switch from one aesthetic to another with a quick change of accessories. And I’m going to show you how. Yesterday, I shared What to Wear to a Bridgerton Brunch, featuring this same gingham dress and floral eyelet duster combination. As a general rule, I wear my outfits 2-3 times before washing and usually on consecutive days. So on the second and third days of the same outfit combination, I try to switch around my accessories to keep the outfit fresh and new with each iteration. After wearing this pretty blue…

What to Wear to a Bridgerton Brunch
Are you a fan of the Netflix Regency romance series Bridgerton? I always enjoy a good period drama and was completely on board with this alternative history story since its debut on Christmas Day 2020. They have released each season in a fairly sporadic way with season 2 premiering on March 25, 2022. Season 3 was released in two parts on May 16 and June 13, 2024, followed by season 4 which was also released in two parts on January 29 and February 26, 2026. There was also a spin-off series, Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, which premiered on May 4, 2023. I watched the first three seasons and the…

“You Look Like an Art Teacher”
“Wherever your passion lies, there you shall create.” -Unknown Last month, I wore this outfit on a thrifting adventure. I was digging through the secondhand scarves (because I can never have too many scarves) which hang just below the preloved hats when two young women in their early 20s approached and one started trying on hats. She was unsure of a messenger cap that she put on her head and was asking her shopping mate for her opinion. The hat was so ridiculously adorable on her that I couldn’t help myself and I chimed in to let her know just how cute the hat looked on her. She acknowledged my…

Red, White, and Floral for Independence Day
Let me start this post by wishing my American friends a very happy Independence Day! This year, our nation is celebrating its 250th birthday. This federal holiday commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence which officially established the United States of America as its own sovereign nation, independent of British colonial rule, on July 4, 1776. In yesterday’s post, I shared a photograph from our country’s bicentennial celebration in 1976. I was two years old so I posed for the picture in my colonial costume without really understanding any of it. Fifty years later, I am here for another milestone American birthday, our semiquincentennial celebration. Hopefully, I’ll still be…

A Red and White Outfit for Canada Day
I can’t believe how quickly we have arrived at July! In all my mental preparation for America’s 250th anniversary celebration on Saturday, I totally forgot about my very close neighbor’s Independence Day celebration that happened yesterday. Living within 30 miles of the Canadian border, we have lots of Canadian cultural things nearby. I do not live in a border city, but the people who do have very close international relationships with each other. A land border is just a land border, after all. It’s not a people border so it shouldn’t inhibit our relations with our closest neighbors. Those land borders, however, often act as political borders, which sadly can…
