The Thrifty Six are Ringing in the New Year
How did we get to the end of the year so quickly? With the New Year fast approaching, Grace has chosen New Year’s Eve outfits for our thrifty theme this month. Before I get to fashion talk, however, first I am going to share a story, a kind of sad story, about my own New Year’s Eve tradition and it came to be. When it comes to New Year’s Eve, I am very much a homebody. I have always been. I remember New Year’s Eve of 1990. I was 16 and it was the first year that I was invited to a party outside of my own home and I…

Festive Outfits | December Stylish Monday Link Up
They told me to be festive and I think I heard them say be silly. And somehow I landed in a place that is festively silly, joyfully jubilant, colorfully bold, and ridiculously bouncy. Y’all, I am telling the truth. This outfit literally made me bounce all day…in the way that Tigger does. “Tiggers don’t jump, they bounce!” Tigger, Winnie the Pooh The double pom poms on my head bounced when I bounced, too, and that’s a really fun kind of bounciness that Tigger would appreciate because… “Bouncing is what Tiggers do best!” Tigger, ‘What Tiggers Do Best’ While this outfit really has nothing at all to do with Tigger or…

Adventures in Thrifting Part 14: White Zara Apron Dress & Link Up On the Edge #274
Back in September, I found two supremely adorable Zara apron dresses on one of my thrifting adventures. The first one I shared was a blue floral print apron dress styled in a very similar way to this white one with a black turtleneck and black chunky boots. I actually styled and photographed this white one first and I liked the layering trick so much that I stuck with it for both dresses. It is the perfect way to take a sleeveless sundress into the colder months. This dress is a very heavy cotton twill material also making it versatile for multiple season wear. The blue floral one is lighter weight…

As November comes to a close and the snow is beginning to fall in northern New York State, I am just lounging around in my coziest things trying to stay warm and comfortable. This month Daenel has chosen loungewear as our style prompt and now I am feeling like a want to have a ladies’ sleepover party or something!
