Reminder: The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book-Summer Shoes & Link Up On the Edge #298

When Nancy and I first began this series as The Bad Buy Book, we kicked it off by featuring “sitting shoes”. You know those shoes that are so utterly fabulous that you cannot bear to part with them but they are atrociously uncomfortable so all you can really do is sit and look pretty in them? I have a bunch of those shoes and I do like to show them off occasionally especially since I give them valuable closet space. But comfy shoes are way better than sitting shoes.

So when we made the transition from The Bad Buy Book to The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book, we started with shoes once again. Any shoes would do for that challenge…just sharing favorite pairs whether they were good or bad buys. But “shoes” is kind of general and we are running out of general ideas after nearly 5 1/2 years of choosing monthly themes.

So for this month’s Good Buy/Good-Bye Book, we are revisiting the theme of shoes but with a specific seasonal twist. Won’t you join us in sharing your favorite Summer Shoes…it could be flip flops or espadrilles, sneakers or sandals, boat shoes or water shoes. Heck, if you wear cowgirl boots in summertime like I do, you can share those as well. Anything goes if you have happy toes! Or unhappy ones, for that matter, because this series also features things that you will say good-bye to!

What is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book?

It is a monthly series that Nancy and I both publish on our blogs on the 15th of each month. Anyone who would like to participate and be featured can send us their photos with a short description explaining if the item was a Good Buy or one that you will be saying Good-Bye to. You do not have to be a blogger to join. Anyone is welcome. We will give you the theme for the next month in each post. Photos will be due to us by the 10th of the month. So please join us for June by sending some photos and descriptions of your favorite (or least favorite) Summer Shoes to shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com or to info@nancysfashionstyle.com by June 10, 2022. You are welcome to submit more than one photo if you would like features on both of our blogs.

Anyone who knows me at all knows that I have an obsession for all things fashion related, but shoes are absolutely at the top of my list of favorite things. I have been shoe obsessed for as long as I can remember. I recall getting a new pair of canvas Nike running sneakers when I was 5 years old. They were navy blue with a white swish and white soles. I was so excited and so in love with my new shoes that I slept with them under my pillow for a week until my mom caught me and told me how gross that was and she wouldn’t let me take my shoes to bed any longer.

Forty-three years later, I am still that obsessed with shoes however I don’t sleep with them anymore (because that is, in fact, really gross).

Enough about my super weird relationship with footwear. Let’s get to some of my favorite summer shoes for inspiration.

In the interest of keeping it short and sweet and to the point, I am stopping here. I have hundreds of pairs shoes. Probably even hundreds of just summer shoes. If I dared to share the whole collection, we would be here all day and you would get sick of my feet and I would be completely embarrassed by my level of overindulgence in the shoe department.

What is your favorite summer footwear?
