And in the Blink of an Eye…
…Eight years has flown by. Where does the time go? How can it move so slowly yet fly by so quickly? My baby is 8 today! We celebrated Radical Ralphie‘s 8th birthday yesterday with a few friends, some pizza, and an amazing strawberry flavored strawberry cake from my favorite baker ever, Monica of Europe Cakes. We started the day with a trip to the park while Archie and Jeff ran some last minute party errands. We ate and laughed and had an obstacle course in the backyard. Then we went to the playground with our friends for two hours in the evening. We finally have some beautiful spring weather here…

The Best Leopard Cardigan & Link Up on the Edge #236
Here is yet another new acquisition from my recent Torrid shopping spree with my sister a few weeks ago. This long leopard sweater coat is the best thing ever! And I nearly left it behind because I thought the camel color was wholly unflattering on me. The store manager urged me to try it on anyway. During this little shopping extravaganza, I was wearing these same pinstripe paperbag waist pants (also from Torrid) and black tee with a lavender cardigan on top. The lavender cardigan looked really cute over the column of black, adding a splash of spring with the pastel hue. I swapped out my pastel cardigan for the…

Music Inspired Outfits & Your Own Twist Link Up #30
As promised in Tuesday’s post, I am back with my monthly Your Own Twist link party. Unfortunately, Monica is unable to join me this month so I am flying solo. Please take a moment to send some positive energy and healing prayers her way as she experiencing some rather troublesome health issues right now. Since this month’s theme is outfits inspired by music, maybe you can even find some inspiring songs to share with Monica to help uplift and soothe her. Music really is such a universal healer, isn’t it? I have written many posts about the power of music and it all stands as true today as it ever…

“May your pockets be heavy and your heart be light. May good luck pursue you each morning and night.” Irish Blessings Happy St. Patrick’s Day to all my Irish and pretend-Irish friends! I wasn’t going to share a post today, but then I got inspired to do a quick roundup of some of my favorite green outfits. If you are feeling festive today for any reason, why not grab any shade of green, any shade will do, and join the Irish fun! “Don’t throw away luck on little stuff. Save it up.” Tim O’Brien “‘When Fortune knocks, open the door,’ they say. But why should one make fortune knock, by…

Feeling Kind of Clueless & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #214
Y’all remember the movie Clueless, right? The 1995 coming of age comedy film starring Alicia Silverstone as Cher Horowitz. Did you know that the storyline of Clueless was inspired by Jane Austen’s Emma, the matchmaking guru who finds her own true love in unexpected places on her continued mission to find the perfect romantic matches for her friends? Did you also know that Jane Austen is my favorite author ever? I have read everything she has written multiple times and studied her works in depth with one of the premier Jane Austen experts in all of academia. Gosh, how I do miss those days spent immersed in books and learning…

The Thrifty Six: The Trail “Blazers” of Preloved Fashion
“Don’t follow in my footsteps. Be original, and create your own path. Be a trailblazer! Do you! Be better than me. Do you! Be happy and have joy in your life.” Tracy Morgan The Thrifty Six is back for Women’s History Month and I want to celebrate and honor all the women who blazed the trail for us to wear what we like, how we like, when we like. As a female member of society, I appreciate those women who came before me and dared to be different, had the courage to push the boundaries and break the rules, and possessed the confidence to forge ahead into a world that…

Making My Way Back in Leather, Leopard, and Snakeskin & Link Up On the Edge #235
This week has been a rough one for me due to some circumstances that sort of sent me into a weird emotional spiral which resulted in some very eye opening revelations about myself and about people in general. I can’t really share the details for a bunch of reasons, mostly to maintain some privacy as well as to keep this post from getting overwhelmingly long and probably rather boring. But I learned some important things through the experience this week and I want to share them with you. I have learned that for a person who preaches a lot about not being judgmental, I have a difficult time accepting the…

Neon Delight & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #213
In Friday’s post, I talked about how every day is casual Friday these days…and that includes Tuesdays! I had mentioned in that post how I spend most days cozied up in leggings and a warm sweater and thought perhaps these stay at home outfits were unworthy of photographs. Until Darlene mentioned in the comments that I should try wearing some of my brightest colored sweaters just to cheer me during these final lazy days of winter in lockdown. So I took her suggestion to heart and started piling on the layers in mostly black and white so I could add this fun neon turtleneck sweater from Old Navy. Old Navy…
