The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Sparkles

Welcome to The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book!

This is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book. A series that I co-host with Nancy where you can choose whether you want to share a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye (which is an item you are going to say good-bye to, previously known as a Bad Buy). Every month you can choose which item you want to submit. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide the theme for each month. Photos should be submitted to us by the 10th of the month with a few sentences explaining why it is a Good Buy or Good-Bye.

The theme for December is Sparkles

*If you sent me a photo, but do not see it in my post, be sure to check Nancy’s post. If you don’t see your photo on either post, please let us know right away and we will add it. Sometimes the submissions can get lost in the shuffle.

Let’s see how all of these fabulous ladies are sparkling this holiday season!

Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style

“It’s all glitter and gold in this outfit! My gun metal shiny ankle boots, gold and silver lurex dress and jacket with gold treats in it. And of course lots of statement golden jewelry! I am loving it! This would be great for New Year’s Eve! They were all Good Buys!”

“Here I am wearing a sequin jacket that I bought at H&M straight after the end of lockdown. I wanted to celebrate it my own way by bringing the sparkles to my wardrobe.”

“I spotted this pink sequin top in H&M earlier this year and knew I must have it! I love everything about it, even the boxy shape which makes it perfect to wear on days when I might feel a little bloated lol! It’s a beautiful shade of pink too, which never fails to make me feel pretty.”

“I’m including a photo of the three of us and I’m wearing my pair of sequin shorts. I remember when I bought these, I wasn’t sure how I would wear them. But then you (Shelbee) once showcased wearing shorts with tights, and I’ve been a fan of that idea ever since!!!”

“I wore this outfit to go for a walk around a lake with my Mom, to visit my dad’s favourite spot. My dad’s been gone for nearly 25 years, but I know he would appreciate both the fancy walking outfit and the bronze leather jacket. Yes, that’s leather! I bought it in Vancouver on consignment and it is early 00s Burberry. Everything in my outfit is second-hand, from my boots to my skirt.”

“I was pretty bummed at how this shirt photographed; it’s hard to tell but the blue shirt has tiny silver glitter sprinkled throughout. I found this shirt last winter at a store where I was returning a few pairs of pants and bought it on a whim. I just LOVE it! It was a good buy too since it was on clearance. The sparkle makes it fun to wear and I often pair it with even more sparkles in the form of silver/rhinestone jewelry.”

“These sequined leggings were a good buy. I don’t find many opportunities to wear them, but they definitely add some sparkle to my outfit when I do!”

Rena of Fine Whatever

“I definitely consider this sequined maxi-skirt a Good Buy and I knew it would be a seasonal favorite when I bought it six years ago. Every year since I’ve restyled it in a new way and I haven’t yet run out of ideas. This time around I came up with two options and in the one shown here, I’ve paired it with a shimmery blazer trimmed with an animal print which I repeated in my choice of footwear.”

“I got this black and metallic scarf at least 8 years ago. It has both silver lurex woven in and gold and silver sequins. Good buy!”

“A sparkly sweater can make you feel festive anytime, so I was excited to find this one. I paired it with my gray coated jeans (remember those?!) from some years ago. Of course, snakeskin booties are required! I also switched out the strap on my messenger bag for one with gold and silver to create more sparkle!! Sparkle on this holiday season, my friends!”

And me!

“I am sharing these thrifted sequined leggings as a very Good Buy! They are so comfortable and glittery and perfect for the holidays. This is the first time I have worn them. Stop back on Monday to see the full post featuring this outfit with The Thrifty Six!”
