Black and White Pajama Outfit Restyled

Last week, I shared how I transitioned my Bridgerton Brunch outfit to a summer boho look with a few simple changes to my accessories. This week, I wanted to share another easy outfit restyle featuring the black and white nightgown that I shared with you all on Tuesday.

This restyle was really quick and easy. We were going out to dinner the day I wore the first styling and it was getting cooler as the evening hours approached. Plus air conditioning in restaurants often makes me too cold when I’m wearing my lightweight summer layers. So I decided to add this oversized open knit black and white sweater.

I have had this sweater for at least a decade and I recently rediscovered it in a bin full of sweaters. The open knit really suits my current style aesthetic so I have relocated it from the basement bins to my closet room to ensure it gets back into my outfit rotations. I know I have shared another outfit featuring this sweater way back in the early days of my blog (probably between 2015-2017) but I can’t find it!

Anyway, let me walk you through my outfit changes.

Keeping with the same pink fedora, thrifted pink medallion necklace, pink feather earrings, and my black Saltwater sandals, the only accessory I switched was my thrifted pink scarf. First, I removed the scarf from around my neck and twisted it around my braid. Then I got creative with my thrifted black and white floral shirt dress. First I buttoned the first few top buttons of the dress, leaving the buttons from the waist down opened. Next I took the bottom button on the dress and put it through a button hole that was up near my waist. Then I took the bottom button hole and secured it to the button at my waist on the other side. This created a dramatic scalloped effect which allowed the black and white leafy print of the nightgown to peek out in the front. Finally, I topped the whole thing with my black and white color blocked sweater.

Although long billowy layers don’t always create the most flattering silhouettes, I don’t really care! I was comfortable and I felt like this outfit adequately captured my quirky style.

Do you enjoy getting creative in your closet? Honestly, I look forward to getting dressed every day because it’s like a mini adventure in creativity. Some hits, some misses, but always fun!

Keeping it on the edge,
