10 on the 10th: June 2022-10 Questions About Vacation & Link Up On the Edge #299
It is time again for my dear friend Marsha in the Middle’s 10 on the 10th series. Each month, Marsha announces a theme to inspire a list of 10 things to be shared on the 10th of each month. This is only the second time I have joined because I never could quite get my act together. But now I have marked my calendar and scheduled the 10th of each month for these posts. They are a great way to share a bit more about myself that I otherwise may have never even thought to share. So thank you, Marsha, for hosting this creative content series. Last month, we talked about…

Reminder: The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book-Summer Shoes & Link Up On the Edge #298
When Nancy and I first began this series as The Bad Buy Book, we kicked it off by featuring “sitting shoes”. You know those shoes that are so utterly fabulous that you cannot bear to part with them but they are atrociously uncomfortable so all you can really do is sit and look pretty in them? I have a bunch of those shoes and I do like to show them off occasionally especially since I give them valuable closet space. But comfy shoes are way better than sitting shoes. So when we made the transition from The Bad Buy Book to The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book, we started with shoes once…

Nomadic State of Mind & Link Up On the Edge #297
Yesterday was Jeff’s birthday and I shared the awesome Jerry Garcia pipe that I found on Etsy for him and gave to him a few days early. My birthday is on Monday and I also gave myself a gift a few days early so I am going to share them today. These rope sandals from Nomadic State of Mind are seriously the most amazing shoes I have ever put on my feet. Let me tell you how I found them and give you my honest review. I was in need of some new sandals for summer festival season so I searched online for best hippie sandals and stumbled across Nomadic…

Styling My Mother’s Day Gifts & Link Up On the Edge #296
Happy Friday, y’all! Today I wanted to share with you the gorgeous gifts I received from my boys for Mother’s Day this year. Jeff took the boys to Rainbow Zen, my favorite store for all things bohemian and hippie, and he let them choose some things that they thought I would like. It is not a difficult task, however, to find things that I would like in Rainbow Zen since I like everything in that store. You can see some of the clothing and home decor items that I have purchased there if you just search “Rainbow Zen” on my blog. The boys went shopping the day before Mother’s Day…

Happy Birthday, Cheese God & Link Up On the Edge #295
We celebrated Archie’s 11th birthday this past weekend, a week late due to some scheduling conflicts. My children’s birthday cakes have become a thing of jokes and humor ever since Ralph’s coronavirus cake back in March of 2020. I have never been one to throw big elaborate birthday parties for my children. I have kept it simple with pizza and cake at my house since the beginning. But I have always indulged their silly cake whims and therefore I splurge on the cake from our favorite local baker who shall remain unnamed and untagged in this post upon her request. We both recognize that Archie’s “Cheese God” cake may be…

My Favorite Loungewear with the Apron That Keeps It Clean & Link Up On the Edge #294
I have been wanting to share my favorite tie dye loungewear and this vibrant linen apron for a few months but I have just been so busy recently that these photos sort of ended up being forgotten. But then I remembered them! And since I am still lounging in these same tie dye leggings, tee shirt hoodie, and cardigan and I am still cooking in my vibrant linen teal apron, I might as well get sharing now. First let me tell you about my new linen apron. Do you remember my hemp and cotton sheet set from Atlinia that I shared back in December? Well, those sheets are still as…

The Happiest Place on Earth & Link Up On the Edge #293
Have you ever been to the happiest place on earth? And no, I am not talking about Disney World. I have been to Disney World four times and I swear to you I was never as happy there as I was at the Strong Museum of Play in Rochester, New York. Plus it was only a two hour drive from home instead of a two hour flight and a whole day in the museum for this family of four cost a whopping $56 (with our military discount, of course). What does it cost for a family of four to visit Disney World these days, I wonder. I am guessing a…

Easter Weekend Highlights & Link Up On the Edge #292
I am wildly behind on all things in my life right now so I am going to share some highlights from spring break and Easter weekend and then I need to prepare for another night away this weekend. On Satruday, we are taking the kids to the Strong Museum of Play in Rochester, New York. I am excited to see the National Toy Hall of Fame and the boys (old and young) are really excited to check out the World Video Game Hall of Fame. I will share about that experience in the next week or two. For now, here are some holiday highlights… The first few days of spring…

The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Easter Egg Colors & Link Up On the Edge #291
Welcome to The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book! This is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book. A series that I co-host with Nancy where you can choose whether you want to share a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye (which is an item you are going to say good-bye to, previously known as a Bad Buy). Every month you can choose which item you want to submit. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide the theme for each month. Photos should be submitted to us by the 10th of the month with a few sentences explaining why it is a Good Buy or Good-Bye. The theme for April is Easter Egg Colors. *If…

Salty But Sweet in the Snow & Link Up On the Edge #290
Which do you prefer…salty or sweet? Both together? Or perhaps you don’t have a taste for either. If that is the case, what do you eat? Only bland foods that lack in flavor, I suppose. Well, let me assure you that there is nothing bland about me or my tastes…so I am a salty and sweet girl all the way. However, I don’t think my sweater is referring to culinary marinades or various other savory infusions. While it is supposedly referring to the personality traits of the person wearing the sweater, I am the first to recognize that I am not really a salty person at all. Unless really provoked!…
