The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Eyelet & Link Up On the Edge #313

Welcome to The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book!

This is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book. A series that I co-host with Nancy where you can choose whether you want to share a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye (which is an item you are going to say good-bye to, previously known as a Bad Buy). Every month you can choose which item you want to submit. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide the theme for each month. Photos should be submitted to us by the 10th of the month with a few sentences explaining why it is a Good Buy or Good-Bye.

The theme for September is Eyelet. “Eyelet fabric is characterized by small patterned cut-outs that are typically finished with embroidered stitches throughout the body of the fabric.” (Source)

All sorts of apparel can be constructed from eyelet fabrics from dresses and tops to scarves, shoes, and hats. So we have asked you to join us in sharing your favorite (or least favorite) Eyelet things. We have no strict rules here really, we just want you to play along! So let’s get straight to it and have a look at all the pretty eyelet things.

*If you sent me a photo, but do not see it in my post, be sure to check Nancy’s post. If you don’t see your photo on either post, please let us know right away and we will add it. Sometimes the submissions can get lost in the shuffle.

Let’s see who played along this time!

“I wore this blouse on my blog a few weeks ago. With a darker pink skirt. And I love this blouse. It is definitely a Good Buy. Actually, it’s also my first eyelet item! So of course I had to have another eyelet something and that one is on my blog! Two Good Buy’s! Now thats luck!”

“This is one of the older items in my closet. It’s testament to the design that it still makes the cut year after year, as I am ruthless when it comes to cleaning out my closet! I am fond of the ruffled hem, which reminds me of lettuce (I refer to this as the Lettuce Dress).”

Amber of The Hungry Mountaineer

*Note: I think Amber meant to share this look for August’s Good Buy/Good-Bye Book featuring Beachwear and Resort Wear, but since she sent it to me in response to the eyelet prompt I am including it here.

“I love these colorful Haram pants I bought in Goa India before the pandemic, seems like SO long ago now! I bought these at this seaside town of Morjim in 2018 and these are my favorite hiking pants in the springtime. They look awesome in photos due to the bright colors so I wear them quite a bit when I take photos and videos for my website and business.”

“I had to search far and wide to find some eyelet and this white eyelet shirt (under the duster) is one that I love because my mom made it. At first when she gave it to me, I thought it was too girly, but I’ve evolved into liking more girly things and now it’s very special.”

“I recently featured this dress on my blog – I bought it from TKMaxx just before my holiday in July. I love the ‘Barbiecore’ pink and the eyelet sleeves and hem. I wore it for afternoon tea at a very nice hotel in Funchal.”
-Emma
Joanne of Slices of Life
“While out birthday shopping with my mom a year or two ago we stumbled upon this adorable eyelet trimmed navy blue top that can be worn off the shoulder and I just fell in love with it. It was on sale so it was a good buy!”

“Tjmaxx for the win at the end of the summer. These 2 eyelet tops were $3 and $2 and gorgeous colors!”
-Mireille
And Me!
“My white eyelet Converse were a Good Buy, for sure. I have had them for so long that I have no recollection of where or when I bought them. They are old and dirty but still comfortable with lots of life left in them. I will likely wear them until they become unwearable!”
