My First Shein Purchase & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #239
I first came to learn of Shein through this blogging community and over the past 6 years, I have browsed the site countless times and always loved all the fun styles offered at super affordable prices. However, I am not much for online shopping from brands that I am not familiar with their sizing or their quality. While I try to avoid fast fashion as much as I can, I am just a girl with a passion for cute clothes and sometimes my craving for something new (and cheap) wins out over my desire for sustainable shopping. This is one of those times when authenticity can be really challenging. I…

The Last Days of Summer & Link Up On the Edge #260
“To say it was a beautiful day would not begin to explain it. It was that day when the end of summer intersects perfectly with the start of fall.” Ann Patchett “Summer’s lease hath all too short a date.” William Shakespeare The last days of summer are winding down quickly as cooler weather has already drifted down upon the North Country. I am currently sitting on my couch wrapped up in a giant cardigan, leggings, big fluffy socks, and my favorite cashmere writing gloves because as soon as the temperature dips down to about 65˚F (18.3˚C) or below, my Raynaud’s Syndrome really starts to torment me. If you are unfamiliar…

What to Wear for Moving Day
If you are planning to move house in the near future, what you’ll wear is likely at the bottom of your priority list. Nevertheless, what you wear for your house move could actually impact how smoothly moving day will go. And it isn’t just about wearing comfortable, practical shoes. Keep reading for what to wear and what not to wear for moving day and why some wardrobe options are better than others. But before deciding on your…

The Fab 40s in Candy Crush
Last month, the Fab 40’s finished out our four month series on Elemental Styles where we created outfits inspired by the four classical elements, Water, Earth, Fire, and Air. Mireille had joined us for the Fire theme as the newest member of this Fab 40s group and now that we have finished the elemental series, it was her turn to choose a theme for outfit inspiration. She chose Candy Crush based on the match three puzzle video game that has been ever so popular on cell phones and other mobile devices for nearly a decade. For those of you who may be unfamiliar with this colorful candy inspired game, it…

When Lightning Strikes, the Universe Pays Back & Link Up On the Edge #259
I have been struggling for weeks to get on top of blog posts and photographs, but I just can’t seem to get there. It has been a rather trying few weeks after the family health emergency that took us out of town two weeks ago. The health scare is under control but I don’t like to reveal any more details about that since it’s not my health to share. But I do want to share the story of that weekend and the chain of events that culminated from it which put me on an emotional roller coaster of a lifetime. But sometimes when lightning strikes us, the universe ends up…

Celebrating Six Years of Blogging with Ever Pretty & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #237
Six years ago today, I hit publish on my very first blog post. I was so intimidated by the idea of sharing my thoughts in writing with an audience that I didn’t know. In fact, I didn’t think I really would ever have an audience at all. But I wanted to share my journey and my life experiences in a creative way that may inspire others who are walking similar paths. Not wanting to get too deep into the really uncomfortable topics that I often like to approach, my first post was about Church and Church Appropriate Attire. If you have been reading along with me over the last six…
