Fetishes + What to Wear on a Role Play Date & Link Up On the Edge #269
Since I have been sharing my sexy adventures lately and receiving some wonderfully positive and entertaining feedback, I figured I would just keep on going with this topic for today. But before we get to the business of what is a role play date and what to wear to one, I want to briefly discuss fetishes. I have long been fascinated by sexual fetishes. So fascinated, in fact, that I wrote my Honors Philosophy thesis on the topic of voyeurism back in 1995. I wanted to know why people have fetishes, what makes certain things become a sexual fetish, is it a natural human response to some trigger to have…

What Would Nancy Wear? & Link Up On the Edge #268
Back in the beginning of September, I had written a guest style post for my dear friend Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style while she was on holiday. I wanted to pay homage to my sweet friend and so during my outfit creation process I kept asking myself the question, “What Would Nancy Wear?” and that quickly became the post title for her blog. In that post, I shared the story of how Nancy and I first became acquainted in the world of blogging, how we began our multiple collaboration projects, and how we have developed a very strong and meaningful friendship despite the 3,600 mile (5,800 km) distance between us.…

My Spooky Halloween House & Link Up On the Edge #266
The first time I ever decorated my house for Halloween was in 2019 at the urging of my children to get a little more festive for this spooky fun holiday. I didn’t do much in 2019 except hang the two giant spider webs and the wispy white creepy cloths. Of course, the kids’ jack-o’-lanterns were part of the porch decor as well. (We haven’t even picked up any pumpkins yet this year.) Then last year, we added the bloody animal heads when I discovered the stinky basement odor inside the heads made them unwearable. The kids had such a great time creating this gory Halloween porch ornament that we decided…

7 Unique Ways to Reward and Appreciate Yourself & Link Up On the Edge #265
Everyone likes a pat on the back every once in a while for all the hard work that we put into in life. However, it is not often that others will take the time to recognize our efforts. Most of us are too caught up in the focus on our own obligations that we inadvertently take for granted the hard work of others. So if you are in need of some appreciation and encouragement but can’t seem to find it anywhere, I have seven simple ways that you can reward yourself for a job well done. 1. Buy Yourself a New Phone If you have set a big goal and…

Reminder: The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book-Halloween & Link Up On the Edge #264
October 1 is the official start of Halloween season in my house. However, we haven’t yet pulled out all of the spooky porch decor. That is our plan for this weekend…shopping for new scary porch things and then creating our best front porch gory creep-ville to date. I never really got into the Halloween spirit until a few years ago when my kids began to show a certain passion for this holiday and now I can’t be stopped! I am having so much fun embracing the Halloween vibe…on my porch and in my closet. So for October’s Good Buy/Good-Bye Book theme, Nancy and I have chosen Halloween. That can mean…

How to Avoid Style Disasters & What to Do If You Have One + Link Up On the Edge #262
As any style addict knows, there is so much more to fashion and style than simply flipping through glossy magazines and deciding what to wear each day. Instead, playing around with your look is about expressing yourself, having fun, and feeling great. Rather than following the latest runway trends and seeking out must-have items, style is more subjective and reflects you and your personality. Experimenting with color and pattern, different fabrics, and accessories provides a creative outlet and can really help to boost your mood. However, if you are someone who loves to experiment with personal style and try out different looks, it is inevitable that sometimes your outfits may…

Denim Overalls and Pearls & Link Up On the Edge #261
I am cheating with today’s post and sharing an outfit that appeared in a July guest post for Carrie of Curly Crafty Mom. Last year, Carrie and I played this little game of fashion ping pong with our denim overalls. While we never consulted one another on styling denim overalls, we always seemed to be thinking along the same lines each time we have both styled them. The very first time Carrie shared her overalls, she wore them in winter with a puff sleeve sweater and beanie hat. I remember commenting on that post how much we were thinking alike because I had just photographed an outfit in my overalls where…

The Last Days of Summer & Link Up On the Edge #260
“To say it was a beautiful day would not begin to explain it. It was that day when the end of summer intersects perfectly with the start of fall.” Ann Patchett “Summer’s lease hath all too short a date.” William Shakespeare The last days of summer are winding down quickly as cooler weather has already drifted down upon the North Country. I am currently sitting on my couch wrapped up in a giant cardigan, leggings, big fluffy socks, and my favorite cashmere writing gloves because as soon as the temperature dips down to about 65˚F (18.3˚C) or below, my Raynaud’s Syndrome really starts to torment me. If you are unfamiliar…
