Getting Ready for a Road Trip & Link Up On the Edge #282
You see all this snow? It’s pretty in the pictures, isn’t it? Well, in the reality, it’s really a huge pain in the arse. And I am not sure that there is any beauty worth the hassle of all this freaking snow. So I have granted myself a short reprieve from the mountains of snow and I am heading to the mountains of North Carolina instead. In just eleven days, I will packing up my little Toyota Corolla for its final road trip before trading it in for an SUV. With festival season coming, we need a larger vehicle for the family camping trips that we are planning. My first…

Move Over Fab 40’s, It’s Time for a New Style Game & Link Up On the Edge #281
“The time has come. The time is now. Marvin K. Mooney will you please go now?” Dr. Seuss Is anyone familiar with that book? Marvin K. Mooney Will You Please Go Now! by Dr. Seuss? It is one of my childhood favorites. My father used to read it to me in the dentist’s office when I was young. I had terrible anxiety about going to the dentist. We would sit in the cold unwelcoming waiting room and my father would read the whole book, really loudly in a silly voice until I was in fits of laughter and had forgotten all about my dental anxiety. I don’t think we ever…

Another Fall Flashback Outfit: Tie Dye with an Oversized Sweater & Link Up On the Edge #280
Last Friday, I shared a fall flashback outfit because I have been too lazy and too cold to take new photos recently. And since my freezing cold laziness stuck around for another week, I am sharing another fall flashback outfit today. Last week’s tie dye and denim outfit was way cuter and much more flattering than my oversized sweater and tie dye outfit this week. Generally I can put together outfits that are both comfortable and stylish. But sometimes I am fine with just the comfortable part. Regardless of my not so flattering oversized outfit, I do love the way the colors worked with the autumn river background. Fall is…

Fall Flashback Outfit: Tie Dye and Denim & Link Up On the Edge #279
With the deep freeze of winter holding us tight in its grasp, I decided to share a fall outfit today that I photographed before the ground was covered in an icy blanket of snow and the temperatures dropped to inhumane levels. School was canceled last night for today due to the temperature not because we have any precipitation. It is actually going to be sunny and clear all day. That ole sun can play tricks with you though. She might look all big and bright and warm when you look outside. But when you step outside, you immediately realize her deception. It is currently -17° F with a wind chill…

Hemp Hemp Hooray! New Underwear for the New Year & Link Up On the Edge #278
As the new year has just rolled on in, it’s a great time to update your underwear. Throw out the old and bring in the new! My underwear drawer gets the least attention of any other clothing storage space in my house. I tend to grow very attached to my favorite underwear, wearing them until they become a source of embarrassment were anyone else to ever see them. Those old comfy, stretched out granny panties have served me well for a while now but it is really time for a complete underwear makeover. While I do keep some sexy lacy bits on hand for when sexy underwear are in order,…

Have a Nipply New Year: #FreeTheNipples & Link Up On the Edge #277
I don’t know if you all are getting tired of my gender equality soapbox and images of my exposed nipples, but they are my nipples and I’ll do what I like with them. My body, my choice, right? At least that’s what I have always been told, but I have learned that this is not always the case. I guess you can always make your own choices about your body, but those choices generally come with a price…sometimes higher than other times. For example, if I want to walk around topless inside my own home, I can do that without fear of judgment or legal action. And most people wouldn’t…

Good Girl Gone Plaid & Link Up On the Edge #276
“It’s Christmas Eve! It’s the one night of the year when we all act a little nicer, we smile a little easier, we cheer a little more. For a couple of hours out of the whole year, we are the people that we always hoped we would be.” Bill Murray Well, I don’t know if I have been a really good girl, but I suppose it depends on who you ask. I do try my very best to lead with love and light, but I am only human and I do fuck up a lot. But I am the first to admit it when I do and I am also…

ATLINIA: Breath of Nature While You Sleep & Link Up On the Edge #275
You might already know how I have been struggling with sleep during these premenopausal years. I am either too hot, too cold, too uncomfortable, too anxious, or in some other way too hormonally imbalanced for proper sleep. So I am always looking for ways to update my sleep environment to be more conducive to a good long healthy night’s sleep. This past summer, I upgraded my comforter to a bamboo one which has really helped to improve my body temperature issues at night. Natural fiber bedding really does have some wonderful sleep and health benefits especially for those of us who struggle with menopause symptoms that effect our sleep. I…

Adventures in Thrifting Part 14: White Zara Apron Dress & Link Up On the Edge #274
Back in September, I found two supremely adorable Zara apron dresses on one of my thrifting adventures. The first one I shared was a blue floral print apron dress styled in a very similar way to this white one with a black turtleneck and black chunky boots. I actually styled and photographed this white one first and I liked the layering trick so much that I stuck with it for both dresses. It is the perfect way to take a sleeveless sundress into the colder months. This dress is a very heavy cotton twill material also making it versatile for multiple season wear. The blue floral one is lighter weight…
