The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book is Celebrating 3 Years with Copy Cat Looks

What a super exciting day it is today! Nancy and I are celebrating three years of our collaborative effort to share Good and Bad Buys. We first began with The Bad Buy Book on February 15, 2017, and ran that series for one year. On February 15, 2018, we introduced The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book so you could choose whether you wanted to share a good or a bad buy for the accompanying monthly theme.

To celebrate our three years of coming together once a month with this fun series, Nancy and I have created copy cat looks of one another. We also had some of our favorite blogger friends join us today with copy cat looks of their own.

Before we get started, we just want to thank all of you who have participated with us over the past three years as well as those of you who just stop by to see what we are sharing. Without you all, this series would not have continued successfully for three years. We appreciate all of your support and kind words! We plan on continuing with this series because we really just love coming together every month and sharing our passion for fashion!

And now let me begin with my wonderful blogging buddy and lovely co-host, Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style, with her copy cat look of me! I absolutely love what Nancy did here. It has me smiling so big! I am dying over her ponytails! Be sure to hop on over to Nancy’s page to see how I copied one of her looks.

“When I think of Shelbee’s outfits, I immediately think kimonos!  And pony tails! So I wanted a style steal with a kimono, but I couldn’t find a red one and this is the only dress that comes closest to a kimono. I actually liked this outfit on me too!”

Next is the gorgeous Mireille of Chez Mireille with her copy cat look of Lindsey of Have Clothes Will Travel. This yellow floral skirt is brilliant paired with a striped tee. Mireille really created the perfect copy cat look!

“The one is me copying Lindsey from Have Clothes Will Travel. Love getting inspiration from others!”

And now we have the beautiful Jodie of Jodie’s Touch of Style, one of our greatest supporters of this series, with her copy cat look inspired by Sara of The Thrifty Hippy. First of all, I love the pairing of green with leopard, but I also really dig that Jodie took the inspiration and flipped it upside down!

“Inspiration is Sara of @TheThriftHippy on Instagram with her leopard and green color combination. Who knew that could look so good??”

Next up is the super stylish Leslie of Once Upon a Time & Happily Ever After with her copy cat look inspired by Alison of Get Your Pretty On. You can never go wrong with faux leather leggings and a chambray shirt for a classic and stylish look.

”Stealing this faux leather legging-chambray shirt-tank top look from Alison at Get Your Pretty On and making it my own.”

Finally, I am sharing an old copy cat look from June where I was inspired by Lauren of Style Elixir.

“Lauren’s black maxi dress with gold metallic dots reminded me so much of my black dress with gold metallic stars that I had to recreate the look.”

I really hope you enjoyed our copy cat looks this month! It was so much fun to put this post together and see where you all find style inspiration.

The theme for March will be Handbadgs. So send us some of your favorite (or least favorite) purses of any style. Crossbody, bucket bags, totes, wristlets, backpacks. Whether they have served you well in carrying your belongings or have proven to be great big flops, good or bad, we want to see them!

Send your photos with a few sentences describing your Good Buy or Good-Bye and we will put you in the spotlight! Please submit your photos with a brief description by the 10th of March to shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com or to nancy@nancysfashionstyle.com.

*By joining The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book, you agree to receive a monthly reminder email for this series.

Keeping it on the edge,

Yes, Nancy! Happy anniversary to you as well! So much fun. I have not made it over to your post yet because of traveling. But I am taking some time this morning to catch up on blog comments so I am going to hop on over now!

This series is so much fun, Shelbee! I’m sorry I didn’t get something together for this one but I just keep running out of time :/ I need to organize my closet, my whole house and my time, apparently! Everybody did outstanding jobs of interpreting their copycat looks (and the one that was an exact copy…what a fun skirt!) and I love you in ponytails! You have the most amazing hair anyway <3 I think I can actually do that first look in red and black with a red shirtdress that I have….

Thanks, Ruth! I think we all struggle with time management, don’t we? Life just gets so busy, it is impossible to do everything that we want to. Copy cat looks are so much for me as well. I love recreating outfits because it’s just a big game of dress up!

This was so fun to see everyone’s copy Shelbee. I do love the inspiration I get from my other blogging friends, but I’m the worst at remembering who gave me that idea, haha!!
    Xoxo Jodie

Yay!!! I loved this challenge. And I was so happy to remember to send my look in. Wonders never cease!
    Everyone looks terrific.
How fabulous that Nancy did a look that she thinks of as your signature look. Down to the pigtails. Precious.
Jodie’s green and leopard a la Sara is so pretty. That vibrant green with the animal print.
Mireille’s pattern mixing is super. I remember pinning a similar look on Pinterest and wondering if I could pull it off.
You look like some kind of hip-happenin’ super hero in those great gladiators and polka dots, and in your strong, powerful stance.
This was so much fun!! Thank you for putting this post together.
