Spotlighting My New Lilac Cowgirl Boots from Horse Saddle Shop

I know I just shared my Big Blanket wrap in Deep Purple with you on Friday, but I finally got myself some purple cowgirl boots and wanted to spotlight them with a monochromatic purple outfit.

The dark purple long sleeve tee and leggings combination is the same that I wore with my Big Blanket wrap in Moss. I added a long purple cardigan for some extra warmth because it is still cold here. In fact, we are under a freeze warning right now as I am typing this post.

For accessories, I tied together two thrifted scarves in different shades of purple to make a longer scarf. The lighter purple scarf has little white guitars printed on it which I thought was super cute and it was only $1 at the thrift store. I wore copper medallion flea market earrings with my giant heart necklace and my ivory horn necklace which somehow got pulled under my arm in these photos and looks more like boob beads than a necklace. I topped it off with my purple hand felted hat and my new purple waist bag.

But the highlight of this purple on purple on purple outfit is certainly my new Circle G by Corral Lilac Embroidery Cowgirl Boots.

I had been searching for quite some time for the perfect pair of purple cowgirl boots. I found five different pairs that I liked but I struggled to make the final decision. These were my choices…

The first three pairs were in the $300-350 range which is a typical price for quality leather boots so I was not deterred by the price point. However, the gold stitching on the first pair was throwing me off a little bit. The third pair are labeled as dark pink instead of purple and they also glow in the dark which is not an appealing feature to me. I don’t really go anywhere after dark and when I do, I don’t think I want my feet to glow. The second pair remained a solid contender until the end.

The fifth pair are closer to the shade of purple that I wanted but they retail for $600 which is getting a bit out of my price range. I did have a 20% off coupon which would have brought them under $500 and I almost bought them. But I was very hesitant about the tall shaft height and the reviews stating that they run narrow through the calf. They don’t even look that comfortable on the model wearing them but they remained in the running because of their gorgeous vibrant color.

The fourth pair, the pair I chose, were actually the least expensive at $169. Actually, I didn’t choose them at all. I showed Archie the top three contenders and he chose them for me. I was unsure of them because cheaper boots can sometimes be uncomfortable and difficult to break in. Also, they were not available in my size from Boot Barn or Country Outfitter where I purchase most of boots and I am always hesitant to try a new online retailer.

I found them in my size at the Horse Saddle Shop in Bremen, Indiana, and decided to go for it. Before purchasing, however, I did call the shop to inquire about the sizing of these boots because I am unfamiliar with the fit of the Circle G brand. Online reviews emphasized that the brand runs narrow and small and recommended sizing up. I received a call back the following day with all of the sizing details that I requested and immediately made my purchase over the phone. My new lilac boots arrived a few days later. Thank you so much for your quick and quality service, Horse Saddle Shop!

When they first arrived, I wasn’t certain that I liked them because the lilac color is not as bright as I had hoped. I did size up as recommended and they felt a little stiff at first. But they didn’t take very long at all to break in and now they are just as comfortable as any of my other more expensive boots. And the bright pink stitching helps bring the muted lilac color to life. I have been wearing them a few times a week with all of my purple outfit concoctions and having so much fun with them. They might be my favorite cowgirl boots now. Although my cowgirl boots are kind of like my children and I really do love them all equally as I can’t imagine life without any of them at this point!

And now my cowgirl boot buying spree for this year has finally come to end. I am content with all of my new boot purchases and ever so grateful to my husband who maintains a special annual savings fund just for my boots. I am seriously one of the luckiest women I know!
