Reminder: The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book-Mini Skirts & Spread The Kindness Link Up On the Edge #767

It is time for another round up of archived outfits. This time featuring mini skirts.

What is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book?

The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book is a monthly series hosted by Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style and myself. Every month, we invite you to share a photo or two of your Good (or Bad) Buy items that fit the stated theme. We ask that you also provide a short description explaining if the item you are sharing was a Good Buy or one that you will be saying Good-Bye to (formerly known as Bad Buys). Nancy and I will both publish a round up post featuring all of the submissions on the 15th of each month.

Remember anyone who would like to participate and be featured can send us their photos with a brief description via email. You do not have to be a blogger to join. You just need a camera and an email address! We will give you the theme for the next month at the conclusion of each post.

Everyone is invited to join us in August to share your favorite (or least favorite) Mini Skirts. All you have to do is snap a photo or two and email us with a short description so you can be featured in our Good Buy/Good-Bye Book on August 15, 2025.

Skirts are probably my least favorite garments but that hasn’t stopped me from having a bunch. While I don’t wear them often, I still keep some on hand for when the mood strikes. From mini to midi to maxi length, I have worn all the skirt styles over the years but I have been steering away from skirts recently and wearing dresses instead. I have also been transitioning away from anything mini, much preferring longer skirts and dresses as they suit my style better. But that doesn’t mean I can’t still rock a mini skirt! Let’s check out the mini skirt outfits from my archives.

But first, what makes a skirt a mini skirt?

According to Wikipedia, a mini skirt (or mini dress) has a hemline that falls above the knees, generally hitting the mid-thigh. A skirt or dress with a hemline hitting the upper thigh would be called a micro-mini and might expose your privates if you bend over the wrong way! Since we aren’t stringent rule followers here, I am calling any skirt or dress a mini if the hemline hits anywhere above the knees. If I can see your knees, then it’s a mini for the purposes of this edition of The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book and we would love to see it!

Now onto my mini skirts…as you will see I wore many minis and the number grows the further you go back as far as 2019. Before 2019, it seems I didn’t really prefer mini skirts at all.

2025

I have worn only one mini skirt this year, evidence that I have transitioned away from mini anything. And this one isn’t even a skirt. It’s a dress that I styled as a skirt.

I have worn way more mini skirts (and mini dresses styled as skirts) than I had realized over the past 10 years. I have kept a few because we know that fashion can be as fickle as my style preferences!

If you would like to share your Mini Skirts with us, please send your photos and descriptions to shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com or to info@nancysfashionstyle.com by the 10th of August so we can put you in the spotlight. You are welcome to send two photos if you’d like to be featured on both blogs.
