Adventures in Thrifting Part 3: Paisley Corduroy Dress & Link Up On the Edge #220
I have another amazing thrift shop find to share with you today. I discovered this Chadwick’s corduroy dress buried in the racks at my local Thrifty Shopper. I am currently having a moment with corduroy so that was the first thing that caught my attention. Then the beautiful fall shades in the paisley print were the next things to capture my eye. And when I saw the original tags still attached with a thrift shop price of $7.99, I was completely sold. I headed to the checkout with fingers crossed that the dress would fit. You still are not permitted to use the fitting rooms in the thrift shops near…

The Lockdown Blazer that Arrived Too Late & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #197
Do you all remember life back before the words pandemic, lockdown, quarantine, social distancing, and new normal were not in our every day vocabulary? A life where we took complete advantage of all sorts of modern conveniences. A life where we thought it was difficult to keep up with all the hustle and bustle of modern day responsibilities. A life when you could order something online and no matter where in the world it was coming from it would be on your doorstep within a week or two. This is where the story of my green lace trimmed corduroy blazer from Rosegal begins. I ordered this fun piece back in…

The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Jeans
Welcome to The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book! This is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book. A series that I co-host with Nancy where you can choose whether you want to share a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye (which is an item you are going to say good-bye to, previously known as a Bad Buy). Every month you can choose which item you want to submit. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide the theme for each month. Photos should be submitted to us by the 10th of the month with a few sentences explaining why it is a Good Buy or Good-Bye. This month’s theme is Jeans and all the fabulous…

Friday Favorites #8: Wearing and Watching & Link Up On the Edge #219
I just returned my from my biweekly counseling appointment and it became glaringly clear to me that I really have lost all joy in life’s experiences. Probably because all of the exciting experiences have been taken away during this strange and uncomfortable time. While I am not unfamiliar with feelings of ennui, the duration of this episode is quite troubling. I simply cannot snap out of it. The things that I would normally do to get back to myself are no longer available and I am struggling tremendously to find alternative things to occupy myself and get back to a place of joy. Please do not misunderstand me though, listlessness…

Inspired by Curated by Jennifer: Linen Dress and Flowerless Fields
We have just had a few weeks of unseasonably warm weather here in the North Country and so I took full advantage of the opportunity to recreate this cool outfit that Jennifer of Curated by Jennifer shared last month. In her post, Linen Dress and Flower Fields, she wore a gorgeous white linen sundress with a black moto jacket, black boots, and a black hat. I just love the stark contrast between black and white as well as the pairing of a feminine white dress with edgy black accessories. While I was styling my own version of Jennifer’s outfit, I realized that out of the hundreds of pairs of shoes…

The Boredom is Killing Me & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #196
I have completely lost my mojo in all things life recently. Seriously, I am the most unmotivated I have ever felt in my entire life. This pandemic has wreaked havoc on my mental health to the point that I literally cannot see past right now. Maybe that’s a good thing. It forces me to live in the moment, every single moment, because I can’t see past the now anymore. But the right now, in this very moment, all the moments are just the same…mundane and boring. That is not to say that I am unhappy. Not at all. I am an optimist by nature and can always find the good…

These Boots Were Made for Talking About | November Stylish Monday Link Up
It is no secret that I have a very public love affair with statement boots and shoes. In a perfect world, I would have my entire home lined with shelves that would house all the beautiful shoes in the world. For as long as I can remember, I have always viewed amazing footwear as works of art rather than practical protection for one’s feet. Of course, I appreciate good quality and comfort in my boots as well as unique bold styles. But sometimes, probably lots of times, I have no issues sacrificing comfort for style. And if I spot a pair of boots that seem to be screaming, “Look at…

The Sunday Morning Quarterback: Penn State Football & Tomahawk Shades
It seems that Jeff and I have completely run out of inspiration and motivation when it comes to The Sunday Afternoon Quarterback. And with Penn State performing rather poorly this season, Jeff certainly was not feeling compelled to share the heartbreak. Two weeks ago, Indiana beat Penn State 36-35 in a heartbreaking one point win for us Nittany Lion fans. Last week, Ohio State outscored our team with a disheartening 38-25 win. And last night, Maryland destroyed Penn State with a 35-19 win. Ugh. But this season is not quite like any other that we have seen probably ever in the history of college football. So you know, we should…
