What to Wear for a (Sex) Interview
*Disclaimer: This post discusses sex and sexual fantasies (as well as sexual realities) on a general level. It does not include graphic details but it does use language that is of a sexual nature. My intent is to share my story not to offend or persuade anyone. So if you are highly uncomfortable with intimate topics like this, I will not be offended if you skip reading. However, if you are only mildly uncomfortable, it may be worth reading just to view a different perspective. Back in June, I decided it was finally time for this 47 year young woman to reclaim my sexuality and enjoy my body and the…

The Thrifty Six are Veiled in Velvet & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #245
“A throne is only a bench covered with velvet.” Napoleon Bonaparte While I have never sat upon a throne of any sort, covered in velvet or not, I have been obsessed with the luxurious fabric that makes a bench a throne for as long as I can remember. In fact, velvet is probably the first fabric that I differentiated from all other fabrics at a very young age. I remember my mother surprised me for Christmas when I was 12 with a handmade quilt that she made for me out of dark emerald green velvet. The quilt backing was constructed from shiny gold satin and the whole blanket felt amazing…

3 Methods to Help Erase Bothersome Pimple Marks
Most people struggle with a pimple problem in varying degrees at some point in their lives. Whether you suffer from severe acne or just the occasional breakout, having the right skin care regimen is absolutely essential for a smooth complexion. When you finally get the relief of a pimple deflating either on its own or with some help, that is when the pimple marks appear which can be an even greater nuisance than the pimple itself. For people who develop acne scars, nearly half had moderate acne and can anticipate dark skin marks following a pimple breakout. Pesky pimple marks look like dark spots and scars that are unsightly and…

My Spooky Halloween House & Link Up On the Edge #266
The first time I ever decorated my house for Halloween was in 2019 at the urging of my children to get a little more festive for this spooky fun holiday. I didn’t do much in 2019 except hang the two giant spider webs and the wispy white creepy cloths. Of course, the kids’ jack-o’-lanterns were part of the porch decor as well. (We haven’t even picked up any pumpkins yet this year.) Then last year, we added the bloody animal heads when I discovered the stinky basement odor inside the heads made them unwearable. The kids had such a great time creating this gory Halloween porch ornament that we decided…

The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Halloween
Welcome to The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book! This is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book. A series that I co-host with Nancy where you can choose whether you want to share a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye (which is an item you are going to say good-bye to, previously known as a Bad Buy). Every month you can choose which item you want to submit. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide the theme for each month. Photos should be submitted to us by the 10th of the month with a few sentences explaining why it is a Good Buy or Good-Bye. The theme for October is appropriately Halloween because Nancy…

Temporarily Out of Order & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #244
I mentioned in yesterday’s post about shackets that my MacBook is currently out of order and in the expert hands of the Geek Squad at Best Buy. I have been trying to do some blogging work on Ralph’s brand new HP laptop but it is so different from mine that the learning curve is pretty much irritating the hell out of me. Also, all of my photos are stored on my laptop with the backup drive in the possession of the Geek Squad as well. I was trying to improvise and figure it out but frankly it is too much stress to be bothered with when I will have my…

All About Shackets | October Stylish Monday Link Up
The shacket is one of the newest hybrid terms in fashion right now. A combination of a shirt and a jacket in a culture where we have become too lazy to pronounce full words. I started wearing oversized flannel shirts as jackets back in the 1990’s at the height of the grunge era in music and fashion. I don’t think we were as apathetic 30 years ago as we are now and so we had no problems referring to our wardrobe pieces using full untruncated words and phrases. While shortening phrases into hybrid terms for ease might be a silly notion, newly formed words often find their way straight into…
