The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book-Winter Layers & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #262

Welcome to The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book!

This is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book. A series that I co-host with Nancy where you can choose whether you want to share a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye (which is an item you are going to say good-bye to, previously known as a Bad Buy). Every month you can choose which item you want to submit. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide the theme for each month. Photos should be submitted to us by the 10th of the month with a few sentences explaining why it is a Good Buy or Good-Bye.

The theme for February is Winter Layers

*If you sent me a photo, but do not see it in my post, be sure to check Nancy’s post. If you don’t see your photo on either post, please let us know right away and we will add it. Sometimes the submissions can get lost in the shuffle.

Now let’s check out some of the favorite (or least favorite) new items submitted this month by my fabulous friends.

My fabulous co-host Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style

“Winter layering? Hell, I even layer in spring and summer! But in winter time, I always wear a camisole, then a basic long sleeved tee, then my sweater or blouse and often a cardigan or a jacket, depends on the thickness of the sweater. In summer time, I look a  lot slimmer!! I love this combination of grey and yellow, all Good Buys, although I don’t wear the items often.”

“I ordered this new mint green sweater from Target and almost sent it back since it was a rather thin material. But I liked the cut and color so much that I went scouring through my closet and I LOVED how it looked paired with my white cardigan sweater. I had never layered two sweaters together before but honestly it was just warm enough with this cold weather we’ve been having!”

“You wouldn’t think I would need layers here in Arizona, but I do, haha!! Here is an outfit we wore to a night festival, so I was prepared!! I never thought to layer a sweater under my poncho before, so I was psyched at how it came together.”

“This jacket turned out to be a good buy. I bought it when I lived in Las Vegas and never needed it. But I kept hanging on to it, because I loved the color. Since we’ve moved, it’s perfect for Fall & Spring.”

“I love wearing layers and it works for me, especially in the Winter months. Love this chunky jumper over wide leg trousers. I added my off white coat for warmth.”

“My 2022 indoors uniform. It’s usually colder inside the house than outside, especially when the sun is shining. My torso has three layers, not including scarf.”

“Fall/winter are always my favorite seasons, because they allow me to put together more interesting outfits. I’ve recently discovered the layering power of the waistcoat/vest, so I’m sending you two outfits featuring my favorite waistcoat and sweater vest.”

“Winter layers for a SoCal gal has an entirely different look than for those living in chillier climates. While I do layer for warmth, most of the items can be worn year-round because they are lightweight. A midi-length skirt with its own layers effect plus boots and a chunky cardigan are a winning combination for winter in my book.”

“Layers are my jam for staying warm in these brutally cold winters. I recently found this super cozy sweater dress at Target and I love lounging it. I bought it in two colors. Then I layered on this cute plaid poncho that I received from my dear friend Sheryl for Christmas this year. More layers can be found underneath it all, with a plaid shirt tied around my waist and a blanket scarf around my neck. All of these pieces were Good Buys!”

Up Next…Perfectly Periwinkle (or Anything Purple)

The theme for March’s Good Buy/Good-Bye Book will be Perfectly Periwinkle (or Anything Purple). Pantone has announced Periwinkle as the color of 2022 so we thought this might be a fun theme for March as we head into spring. But don’t run off buying things specifically in periwinkle, anything purple will do!

Won’t you join us next month with some of your favorite (or least favorite) Periwinkle or Purple Items. You can even send two photos if you’d like to be featured on both blogs. Remember to include a brief description about your submissions. Please submit your photos and descriptions by the 10th of March to shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com or to info@nancysfashionstyle.com so we can put you in the spotlight!
