The Thrifty 6 in Bold Monochrome
We finally had a few reasonably mild days where I could bare some skin for outdoor photos which worked out perfectly for our April Thrifty 6 style theme. Lucy has chosen bold and bright monochrome which is easy to do with a solid colored dress and accessories in the same color family. I realize that I have been styling lots of pink for these thrifted challenges recently, featuring the color in pastel for February’s Tickled Pink theme and a super vibrant shade of pink to Brighten Up January. The trick with these thrifted challenges is that the piece that is meant to satisfy the chosen theme should be preloved. But…

The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Easter Egg Colors & Link Up On the Edge #291
Welcome to The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book! This is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book. A series that I co-host with Nancy where you can choose whether you want to share a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye (which is an item you are going to say good-bye to, previously known as a Bad Buy). Every month you can choose which item you want to submit. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide the theme for each month. Photos should be submitted to us by the 10th of the month with a few sentences explaining why it is a Good Buy or Good-Bye. The theme for April is Easter Egg Colors. *If…

7 Tips for Summer Style Inspiration
Spring has finally arrived which means summer is not very far behind. In the world of fashion, spring is merely the pregame show for summer style but the last two years have been tainted by a tiresome pandemic which has drastically changed our style and limited our fashion choices in many ways. But I am declaring 2022 as the Summer of Style, a season filled with celebrations, barbecues, festivals, and travel, all calling for their own special fashions to make this summer one to remember. The change of seasons generally calls for a few wardrobe updates, but as we begin returning to a more normal way of living this summer,…

Spring Trends | April Stylish Monday Link Up
Fashion trends change as quickly as the seasons do. Except where I live, the trends change much faster than the seasons. Yes, we are still experiencing winter weather as we begin our Spring Break. And Spring Break is the time to start showcasing your favorite spring fashion trends. It was snowing yesterday but we are expecting a high today of 60˚F (15.5˚C). That’s a big jump from the sub-freezing temperatures I woke up to this morning. Once again, I am curled up in my fleece leggings and a sweatshirt with a giant blanket scarf wrapped around my shoulders to stay warm because heat is expensive with these crazy gas prices.…

“The Great Mystery of Water” by Christi Belcourt | Style Imitating Art
I always get super excited to announce the artwork for these SIA challenges because it gives me a creative goal for the week. If not for style challenges in general, I likely would have never gotten out of my leggings all winter long. But when I am handed a challenge, in particular a style challenge, I always feel my artistic muse awaken. For I have finally accepted that my personal art comes in the form of written words and creative style. I have grown to view my body as the canvas on which I can showcase my artistry and as a result I feel pretty freaking fabulous most of the…

Salty But Sweet in the Snow & Link Up On the Edge #290
Which do you prefer…salty or sweet? Both together? Or perhaps you don’t have a taste for either. If that is the case, what do you eat? Only bland foods that lack in flavor, I suppose. Well, let me assure you that there is nothing bland about me or my tastes…so I am a salty and sweet girl all the way. However, I don’t think my sweater is referring to culinary marinades or various other savory infusions. While it is supposedly referring to the personality traits of the person wearing the sweater, I am the first to recognize that I am not really a salty person at all. Unless really provoked!…

How Criminal Defense Lawyers Get Involved in Cases of Domestic Violence
Domestic violence, domestic abuse, or domestic assault is a pattern of behavior in an intimate relationship where one partner physically and/or emotionally abuses the other. Abuse can take many forms including physical, sexual, emotional, and economic abuse. The frequency and severity of domestic violence can vary dramatically; however, domestic violence often involves coercive control tactics such as intimidation including threats, isolation, and economic abuse in addition to physical violence. There are qualified criminal attorneys in Los Angeles who are skilled in defending those accused. Although domestic violence happens in all types of relationships, it most often occurs between intimate partners (spouses or domestic partners) and family members. In the United States,…

A Cozy Easter Outfit & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #269
While it did snow here in the North Country over this past weekend, it does not look anything like these photos which were taken back in the beginning of February. All the snow has melted now and it is getting warm enough to melt the snowflakes before they start piling up and forming snow mountains. But as the snow hits the warmer ground and melts away, it merely makes mud season that much muddier. I can’t say that I miss the snow accumulation all that much, but the trade off for mud is not much better. I got on a bit of white boot kick this winter but quickly realized…
