Festival Camping at Smoked Country Jam & Link Up On the Edge #301
We had the best weekend ever at Smoked Country Jam in the wilds of Pennsylvania. As usual, I did not take very many photos at all. I didn’t even take one single picture of the bands who played at the festival and I didn’t get any photos with any of my friends who I saw there. But it doesn’t matter because I was present and living in all of the beautiful moments that happen at festivals like these. About a thousand memories were made in those four days and that can happen with or without photographs. I combined the few pictures that I took with the few that Jeff took…

7 Alternative Ways to Fight Aches and Pains
Many of us experience chronic or regular aches and pains, especially as we get older. While over-the-counter painkillers and prescription painkillers can be effective methods of treatment, I am a huge proponent for exploring alternative non-pharmaceutical options. Alternative treatments will allow you to give your system a break from medications while also serving as a supplementary form of pain relief. This article discusses 7 alternative forms of pain relief that are worth trying as well as some of their most suitable applications. 1. CBD Products Science has offered us plenty of evidence on the benefits of cannabis as an effective pain relief remedy. This has led to an increase in…

The Thrifty Six in Tropical Paradise & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #280
The Thrifty Six are back and it was my turn to choose our style theme for this month. I have to be honest with you, I had the dress in the mind before I chose the theme making this much less of a challenge for me. But I found this vibrant green tropical print slip dress on a winter thrifting adventure and it was begging for an occasion to be worn. So I made up a theme that went with the dress and I ran with it. My thrifty friends didn’t seem to mind though because they brought out some of the prettiest preloved outfits perfect for a tropical paradise.…

On a Journey to Tranquility with Zen Spirit Malas & Link Up On the Edge #300
I was first introduced to the practice of meditation when I was about 8 years old. However, it was more in the form of visualization, which is a little bit different. Where meditation is a restful practice meant to give your body an opportunity to heal, visualization is a more active practice designed to prepare us for future states of high performance. Why Meditation & Visualization Aren’t The Same (And How To Use Them) gives an excellent explanation of the differences between these two practices of mindfulness and how both are beneficial for us either separately or used in tandem. My first introduction to any mindfulness techniques came from my…

Celebrate Pride & Your Own Twist Link Up #45
Every year in the United States as well as many other countries in the world, the month of June is recognized as Pride Month, a celebration of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) community in honor of the Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan on June 28, 1969, when a police bust on a gay bar became violent and the gay patrons as well as neighborhood residents fought back. This event is considered the transformation point for the gay liberation movement with the first gay pride marches taking place in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York City, and San Francisco on June 28, 1970, to mark the first anniversary of the…

How We Style Coastal Chic | June Stylish Monday Link Up
Coastal Chic is a recent style trend making headlines under the name of Coastal Grandmother. It has elements of breezy dresses, straw accessories, and lightweight linens and cottons in neutral shades with the occasional splashes of bright pastels like blue, pink, and yellow. The trend brings to mind chic fashion icons such as Diane Keaton and Martha Stewart in their effortlessly comfortable styles that are timelessly classic and far from an actual trend that has an expiration date. There is no expiration date on timeless style just as there is no expiration date on personal style. We get to be cool, sophisticated, and stylish well into our grandmother years and…
