Let me introduce the ladies of The Magnificent 8.

We are showing that you can’t put a number on style!

For this midsummer’s post, we chose the iconic little white dress as our theme. It is a long-standing fact in the fashion world that every woman needs that very special little black dress. But what about the little white dress? Moving to the opposite side of the color spectrum, I do believe that every woman also needs a little white dress. While black connotes sexy, sassy, night on the town, white portrays more of a whimsical innocent down to earthiness.

There is something quite special about the perfect little white dress. Not only does it give the feel of innocence, but it also designates a boldness about the woman who dares to venture out into this dirty old world clad completely in white. The idea of a little white dress can often instill a sense of fear in the coffee drinker, the boy mom, or the resident in a rainy town. But I am a believer that we should not live in fear and allow it to prevent us from enjoying the finer things in life. Like a pretty white dress.

One way to ease my mind from the fear of attracting dirt to my white ensemble is to layer something dark over it. Like a black lacy kimono. Sat in some dirt or brushed against your car bringing the filth away with you, just produce a dramatic swing of the kimono right atop the stain and no one is the wiser.

But I don’t always layer darker pieces over my white things. In general, I just make the commitment and forget about it. It is the keeping it at the forefront of your mind that puts the energy out into the universe which then draws the dirt to you. It is the Law of Attraction. If you are thinking about it, you are putting that energy into the universe and the universe responds with…you guessed it, dirt. You think dirt, you get dirt.

Stop thinking about dirt! And grab your prettiest white frock, make the commitment to wearing it all day long, and think clean, pristine, sparkly white beauty! And go out and rock that little white dress! But bring a kimono along just in case.
