Farts are Always Funny & Spread The Kindness Link Up On the Edge #811
Way back in my former life, I had a significant other who did not find toilet humor to be humorous at all. I, on the other, have forever preached that farts are always funny. There really are no exceptions to this rule either. In fact, the more inappropriate the situation when a fart is released, the funnier that particular fart becomes. A loud fart in a quiet room will always elicit a laugh. A silent stinky fart anywhere may cause some to gag and choke but they likely will still be laughing through that aromatic experience. Whether it’s a well-placed fart or an ill-timed gaseous release, someone within hearing or…

Living My Midlife Years in Color
My personal style has always been a bit unconventional. Some might even go as far as calling my fashion aesthetic ridiculous and crazy. As a teenager, I was accused of trying too hard to make people look at me. The funny thing is I absolutely hate to be looked at. I dress for myself and the only person I really want looking at me is myself in a mirror. As an adult, I have had friends go out of their way to tell me my outfits were embarrassing. Embarrassing for whom? Certainly not for me. I generally put tremendous thought and effort into every detail of my outfits even when…

Oogie’s Ice Cream 20th Anniversary Celebration & Spread The Kindness Link Up On the Edge #810
On Saturday, I celebrated my 52nd birthday in conjunction with the 20th anniversary of Oogie’s Ice Cream, my sister’s vintage ice cream truck that was named after our father. If you click the link to her website, the cover photo shows little toddler Archie with my sister’s granddaughter. It’s one of our favorite photos of all time! When we were kids, my father rented ice cream trucks for a few consecutive summers to make some extra cash. These were the summers when I was about 10-12 years old. My sister was old enough to drive so she was put in charge of one of the trucks and I rode along…

Another DIY Tee Shirt Poncho & Spread The Kindness Link Up On the Edge #808
Last week, I shared my first DIY tee shirt poncho that I created from one of Archie’s old Fireside Collective tee shirts and two very old tie dye wrap skirts. It turned out so wonderful that I immediately set about to making a second one. Before I get to the details of this tee shirt poncho, I must mention how very simple this project is. It requires just a few cuts with the scissors and the ability to sew a few straight hems. Honestly, the hems don’t even have to be all that straight to complete this DIY poncho. I can’t sew a straight line to save my life but…

Why Poolside Style Deserves the Same Attention as Everyday Outfits
Poolside style has a funny way of revealing how we treat our wardrobes. We’ll spend ages choosing an outfit for brunch and then grab the same old swimsuit and flip-flops for a day when we’ll probably take more photos than expected. The pool deserves better than last-minute dressing and so do you. It’s Still an Outfit A pool day isn’t just about swimming. It might include lunch, lounging, a walk to the bar, a resort lobby, or a sunset hangout that keeps going longer than planned. That means your look has to work beyond the towel. Poolside dressing doesn’t need to be fussy. It simply needs the same care you’d…
