Another Football ‘Fit with New Purple Boots & Spread the Kindness Link Up On the Edge #828

Fall has definitely arrived with the temperature drop being very obvious during evening football games. I’ve had to trade my Cyclones tee shirt poncho for leggings and a leather jacket, but I think that poncho will come in handy during swim season since it’s wicked hot inside natatoriums even on the coldest of winter days.

But we are still in football season for one more week so I brought out my purple leather jacket from last year to wear to last week’s game. The jacket is the perfect purple completer piece to wear with my new Black Star mulberry and gold cowgirl boots. Yes, you read that right, I did purchase yet another pair of purple cowgirl boots because I just can’t seem to get enough. These purple and gold Black Star Isabel boots were on my wishlist last year when I was shopping around for purple boots. I ended up buying the lilac and pink embroidered Circle G by Corral boots instead because they were about half the price of these Black Star boots. But then the Black Star boots went on sale from $330 to $185 in June so I snatched them up without hesitation. And I’m glad I did because now they are completely sold out and impossible to find anywhere online.

I was not familiar with the Black Star brand before purchasing these boots. Since I mostly order my cowgirl boots online and because the fit is not standard across boot brands, I often hesitate to try new brands. But these had great reviews and the original price point indicated higher quality leather and construction. I have to say that I was not disappointed when these beauties arrived! They were carefully packaged with each boot inside its own dust bag inside a gorgeous black boot box. The presentation of the boots was almost as great as the boots themselves and the aroma of the leather immediately found its way to my nose which quickly approved of the quality.

Then I slipped them on my feet and it was equal goodness with a perfect fit and an easy on/easy off inside half zipper which is necessary because the top of the boot shaft is almost knee high. They are soft, supple, and very comfortable. I love the gold stitching since our school colors are purple and white with gold accents, making these such a wonderful addition to my sports-mom wardrobe.

For this football ‘fit, I kept things pretty simple with basic black leggings, a purple tee shirt, and a black cardigan underneath my purple leather jacket. To highlight the contrasting stitch design on the boots, I accessorized with tans and gold wearing a gold tassel necklace, my gold and brown football earrings, and my tan messenger cap with a sparkly black hat band. I recently found this purple paisley scarf on a thrifting adventure and it’s become my go-to scarf this football season.

Our team has been playing hard but they’ve been outperformed by all but one other team in the league. It’s been a rough season for us as we are coming to end with a losing record but it’s okay. The whole experience has been full of lessons for these middle schoolers and those lessons are way more important in the long run than the modified football win-loss record.

As much as I’ve enjoyed watching Ralph on the football field, I do get really nervous that he’s going to be severely injured. I’m really looking forward to swim season which starts in about 2 weeks. He participated in a variety of swim camps all summer long and his improvement is dramatically noticeable. So I’m waiting to see how well he performs this season which will determine whether he plays JV football next year or gets involved in year round club swimming. I’m hoping for the latter!

Regardless of which sports he chooses, I’ll still be there all decked out in my purple outfits cheering him and his teammates on!
