The World Is Your Oyster & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #10
Did you ever hear that phrase? It is one that I have carried with me for many, many years. There once was a very influential man in my life…when I was in my mid-twenties. I was going through a divorce. I was still trying to discover myself. I was trying to figure out the person whom I wanted to be. I was working full time and going to law school at night. I was driven. I was determined. I was spiraling out of control. Much of this period in my life is really just a blur. It is sort of unfortunate that I don’t recollect much of it. Or maybe…

Comfortable in My Own Skin and #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #9
Do you ever just not feel comfortable with your own body? Nothing fits right? Nothing feels right? And you get stuck in a style rut of baggy ill-fitting clothing that will simply hide it all? This has happened to me…especially since having children and turning 40. My body is not what it was 20 years ago, 15 years ago, or even 10 years ago. Even in my mid-30’s when I had reached a weight and clothing size that was quite foreign to my former athletic self, I still was able to comfortably wear tight tops and even tuck them in. Then I had children, then I turned 40, then perimenopause…

Chambray Shirt Dress and #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #8
Today, I want to highlight this fabulous light chambray shirt dress that just came into Shelbee’s Shoppe. I love the A-line shape of it, making it perfect for wearing as a jacket over another dress, which is my favorite way to wear any shirt dress. There are two reasons for this. 1. I am a huge fan of layering. It creates more interesting dimensions in an outfit, provides extra warmth, and hides all sorts of imperfections. 2. As a girl with a big boobs, shirt dresses rarely button without gaping, so the best solution I have found to these #bigboobproblems is to just wear all button downs (shirts and dresses…

My Foxy Snood and #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #5
It has been a few weeks since my last #SpreadTheKindness Link Up, but I am finally getting back on track and today I present you with my new foxy snood! My snood is a bit wonky because the pattern is upside down. But this is what I love about my fun snood. It’s little imperfection is what makes it perfectly suited to me. After all, isn’t it so important to embrace all of our little imperfections? Isn’t it our imperfections that make us unique and special diamonds in the rough, so to speak? Our quirks, our strange little habits, our eccentricities, and all of our differences are what make this…

Japanese Algae and #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #4
In sticking with my #SpreadTheKindness theme, I need to share with you all my fabulous new necklace which I recently purchased at a vendor show where I had set up Shelbee’s Shoppe. My table was right across from a wonderful lady named Valerie who is the owner of Queen Thumb Creations. Valerie’s shop specializes in “handcrafted rustic decor of a wide variety ranging from live plant terrariums, faerie garden accessories, seasonal decor, and driftwood art”. She also cultivates these adorable Japanese algae balls and sells them in a variety of glass jars, some so tiny you can wear them as a pendant. I ended up purchasing one to wear around my…
