When it comes to looking after your mental health, self-care is one of the hardest things to do. Whether you feel like you don’t have the time or you don’t know where to start, self-care is definitely something that shouldn’t be ignored. Not only will it allow you to spend quality time focusing your yourself, but it also gives you a chance to pause and reflect, which is definitely something we all need every now and again.

While self-care means something a little different to everybody, here are 5 self-care practices everyone should try.

1. Enjoy a Long Hot Bath and a Pamper Session

Although it may seem as though it’s an incredibly small thing, running yourself a long hot bath and having a pamper session can make the world of difference. Whether you’ve had a hard day at work or you’re tired from being on your feet all day, taking the opportunity to pamper yourself is a great way to improve your mood. Find your favorite pampering products, put on a relaxing playlist, and enjoy the peace and quiet for as long as you can. 2. Spend the Evening Curled Up with a Good Book

If you love to read, then spending the night engaged in a good book is the perfect form of self-care. Not only does reading a book force you to switch off from everything else, but it also gives you a chance to get lost in another world for a few hours. What could be better?

3. Do Something that Encourages You to be Creative

It’s surprising how relaxing it can be to tap into your creativity. So discovering what types of creative activities you enjoy is important. Consider your favorite creative outlets.
