Organic Aromas Giveaway & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #179
I am super excited to share my new Explorer Aromatherapy Diffuser Kit from Organic Aromas with you all. I received my kit a few weeks ago and I have used my diffuser nearly every day since then. Not only I am really impressed with the features of the nebulizing diffuser, but the selection of essential oils that came with this kit are all so great as well. The pretty wooden storage box comes filled with six 0.3 ounce bottles of Organic Aromas essential oils: Rosemary, Lavender, Sweet Orange, and Peppermint as well as their Purity and Energy essential oil blends. The kit also includes an additional 0.17 ounce bottle of…

The True West: Children’s Book Review & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #178
How much do we really know about the prominent characters who were instrumental in settling the American West? More importantly, how many of us realize that many of the renowned figures from the American West were women and minorities? Historians have estimated that 1 in 4 cowboys during the settling of the Wild West were black, latino, Native American, or women. So why have their powerful and inspiring stories not been given the same amount of attention as the white European men who also played an enormous role in settling the American West? Well, you don’t have to answer that last question because I am certain we all know the…

No One is Listening & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #177
I feel like no one is listening. I feel like everyone just wants their own voice to be heard. I feel like we are all just screaming at each other. And the result is completely ineffective communication. How can we possibly view an issue from all angles and make appropriate considerations that will result in successful changes if we are so unwilling to even hear what anyone else has to say? Changes happen on a million different levels. From within ourselves which is then filtered down to our children and extended out to our personal networks. Change will grow from there. Outward, upward, downward, and inward. When we patiently and…

The Meaning and Purpose of Life & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #176
Sunday, January 23, 2005. 11:11 p.m. I was reading The Heart of Philosophy by Jacob Needleman and I wrote a journal entry in response to it. But first, I need to set the stage… I was revisiting this journal from 15 years ago and what I found was an abundance of quotes jotted down from whatever books I was reading at the time. I followed a very strict and unwavering pattern in these entries. First, I would write the title and author of the book. Then when something would strike me from within the pages of that book, I would also write that down. Every time I wrote a quote…

Reminder: The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book-Formal Wear & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #175
Last month’s Good Buy/Good-Bye Book was so much fun featuring pre-loved items. I want to thank all of the amazing ladies who joined us! Keep in mind that you are always welcome to share your pre-loved items for any theme that we feature here. But we are shifting gears in a very dramatic fashion for June’s theme. Formal wear is what we are looking for this month. You can submit any outfit or outfit pieces that would be appropriate for any type of formal, semi-formal, or dressy event. You absolutely do not have to get all dressed up and take new photos to submit, just send us pictures of your…

Seeking Redemption & SpreadTheKindness Link Up #174
Today is a day that I will be seeking redemption…all day long. You see, between losing all track of the days in quarantine and then suffering from a severe abdominal issue yesterday (which turned out to be nothing more than really bad gas), I completely and totally forgot today was Jeff’s birthday. We woke as normal, went through all the normal morning routines, I kissed him good-bye as he left for work, and about an hour later I looked at the calendar and I gasped. And I cursed. A lot. And I sent off a hasty text message which could in no way make up for my oversight. The guilt…

Watching and Wearing 2 & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #173
I think I have been existing in a vortex of pot smoke and boredom for so many weeks now that I feel like the outside world maybe isn’t reality. With the weather finally beginning to resemble spring, the kids have been spending hours outside which leaves me to my own whims. But my whims are few and far between because there is still no where to go and not much to do. So I cuddle up in my cozy sweaters and scarves because I am still freezing even in the middle of May and then I escape into the television. It makes me feel like there is something more than…

Weekend Recap with Evolution CBD Cream & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #172
This past weekend was quite a strange one from celebrating Mother’s Day in seclusion to some freaky snow storm that descended upon us. We woke up on Saturday morning to a winter wonderland, but fortunately it warmed enough to melt it all by Sunday morning. While snow in May is not uncommon where I live, by this point in the year I am really quite over it. So I was thankful that Mother’s Day was sunny and pleasant although a bit on the chilly side. We were able to head out to the park and take some photos of my Mother’s Day outfit while the kids rolled down the giant…

Reminder: The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book-Pre-Loved Items & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #171
There is a huge movement toward second hand shopping and wearing pre-loved items with pride. It is so much better for the environment and for our bank accounts. Plus it really is a lot of fun. As a woman with an overflowing closet, sometimes the thrill is in the hunt. Because I must face it, I don’t actually need anything new in my closet. Wants are an entirely different thing and so I can have fun and be patient while I search the thrift shops and second hand sites like Poshmark for that perfectly wonderful and beautifully unique piece. So for the May edition of The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book, we are…

What to Wear Hiking in the Chaumont Barrens Preserve & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #170
You might think I’m a little bit crazy (actually you might know that I’m a little bit crazy), but I wore tights and a dress to go on a family hike. More specifically, I wore my Sheertex tights and a sweatshirt dress to go hiking. On Sunday, we had this really beautiful sunny day nestled between weeks of rain so we decided we must take advantage of the weather and get some fresh air and exercise in the great outdoors. Since photo opportunities have been few and far between, I decided to also use the opportunity to take some outfit pictures. With that in mind, I got creative with my…
