Shelbee on the Edge Turns Two with Happiness Boutique & Link Up On the Edge #58
Two years ago today I published my very first post. It was exciting and scary and intimidating. I was filled with uncertainty and questions and insecurities. Would people actually read what I write? Would the response be positive? Would I receive horrible nasty comments from trolls? Was this a risky venture? Was it a risk that I would be glad I took? The answer is yes. To all of those questions. Yes, people do actually read what I write and I couldn’t be more grateful to you all for validating what I do. Yes, the response from readers and the blogging community has been even more positive than I could…

We Failed as Vintage Housewives with DressLily
A few weeks ago, Amy and I decided we were going to spend the entire day trying to be vintage housewives. So we put on our best vintage inspired dresses, added our favorite shoes, and spent the day lounging on her porch while the children played in the yard. *This is a sponsored post. DressLily provided me with this dress. All thoughts and opinions are entirely my own. Amy has a copy of the infamous Good Wife’s Guide hanging in her kitchen. If you are not familiar with this guide, it is rumored to be an article that was published in May of 1955 in a magazine called Housekeeping Monthly.…

Inspired by Cindy Sherman with Rosegal & Link Up On the Edge #56
I have been enamored with the artwork of Cindy Sherman for more than half of my life. I was first introduced to her work by a college professor in one of my Philosophy classes back in the late 90’s. I was embarking on a quest to complete my first very large research paper, the requirement being a minimum of 30 written pages. Egads. That was a daunting assignment for a teenager. Even more daunting, I decided that I was going to tackle the concept of voyeurism. *This is sponsored post. As always, all thoughts and opinions are entirely my own. I had no idea where to begin. I just knew…

The Zyrtec Itchies & A Zaful Dress
I have a little story to share. And a cute little dress from Zaful. Hopefully, it is helpful to some. The story. Not the dress. Although I do hope you like the dress, too. It was gifted to me by Zaful to share with you all. *This is a sponsored post. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Back to my story. The information I am about to share would have been quite helpful to me had I known. But I found out the hard way. It seems that the popular over the counter allergy medication, Zyrtec, is quite physically addicting and you can experience some horrendous withdrawal symptoms when…

All thoughts and opinions are my own. Indie Week is “the second annual campaign encompassing the first week of July to engage local independent businesses and citizens in celebrating entrepreneurial spirit and the freedom our local businesses embody.” It also is an occasion to recognize…

Self Confidence Saturdays with Torrid & Link Up On the Edge #48
If I am being honest, which I always try to keep it real and honest here, I am feeling quite lazy and don’t much have it in me to write something of substance today. Don’t misunderstand, it’s not that I don’t have anything to say. I have plenty to say, in fact. But I need some time to focus and put all of my ideas in order so I can deliver you the best content possible. So for today, to kick off the weekend, I am just going to share with you this pretty wrap dress from Torrid. Peach is not a color that I am generally drawn to, but…

Countdowns of Spring & Link Up On the Edge #36
We are just coming out from under a mountain of snow here in the North Country. I saw on the news that many areas ended up with much less snow accumulation than predicted from this Blizzard of 2017. However, the opposite happened to us. It was predicted that we would have 7-13 inches of snow in our area. Ha! We got in excess of 2 feet! I suppose the upside is that we are accustomed to such huge amounts of snow accumulation anyway. But all the snow had finally melted and there was actual grass to be seen just a few days ago. As a result of said blizzard, I…

COTD & Link Up On the Edge #30
What is COTD, you may be wondering… Well, it stands for Colors of the Day and it is a super fun daily challenge hosted by a fabulously stylish couple in Oregon, Mercedes and Andy. Every Monday through Friday, they choose 2 colors/patterns/themes and challenge us to post photos of outfits, art work, nature, just about anything really, that combines the two colors, patterns, or themes. Not only are the challenges fun, but they get you thinking and being creative with your closet. And…the members of the group who participate are probably the most sincere, most genuine, most creative, most colorful, most supportive, and kindest group of people you will likely…

Winter Florals and a Story About Critters
It’s never dull during North Country winters. From the bitter, bitter cold to lake effect snow to little critters seeking shelter and food, there’s always a story to tell. Today, I am going to share one of these stories. And a cute winter floral dress straight from Shelbee’s Shoppe. As I type this, it is currently a balmy 3 degrees Fahrenheit outside with a total accumulation of approximately 30 inches of snow on the ground from two (maybe three) lake effect snow bands that hit us late in the week. When the cold and snow hit, we all seek shelter and stay inside the warmth of our homes. But we,…

New Year’s Resolution for 2017: I Choose Joy
Happy New Year! I am back from my blogging break during which time I spent countless hours photographing merchandise for Shelbee’s Shoppe, taking measurements, and loading the images online for your shopping pleasure! I also reformatted my entire website to accommodate my online shop. Please do stop by and see all the pretty things! I am still adding items every day, so please continue to check back. And do let me know what you think! For my very first post of the new year, I want to share a little story with you all. During the late morning of New Year’s Eve, I was out and about running some errands…
