Last Days of Summer & Spread The Kindness Link Up On the Edge #773

With the official calendar ending of summer happening in just 10 short days, I am whole heartedly hanging on to my summer wardrobe. The temperatures have been milder than normal for this time of year and I am embracing it. Our 10 day forecast is showing all sunshine with temperatures fluctuating from the 50s at night to the 70s and even 80s during the day time. It truly is the perfect weather. Now if it could just stick around until November or December or even all year round, I would not have very many weather complaints at all. But alas, I know too well that winter always comes to these parts with a vengeance, bringing a whole lot of cold and snow with it. Until then, I am wearing my summer clothes and baring my naked toes for as long as I can.

This mint green floral kimono robe was purchased in 2023 and has hung in my closet unworn until now. I love all shades of green and florals are my favorite prints, so naturally I couldn’t resist adding this pretty piece to my wardrobe. But then I struggled to style it, so it continued to hang neglected in my ever growing collection of kimonos, robes, and other flowy toppers.

For this robe’s inaugural outing, I styled it over an ivory slip dress from 2022 with a very old pair of pink velvet sandals. I completed my look with my white rose print cowgirl hat, my ivory horn necklace, a thrifted set of pink and white beads, and pink tassel earrings.

The really cool thing about this robe is the style of the sleeves. I can wear them long with the elasticized cuffs around my wrists or I can situate the elastic cuffs just above my elbows to create the half bell sleeve look below.

While I often prefer deep rich colors or bright bold hues, every now and then pretty pastels appeal to my feminine whims. I was quite pleased with this outfit and will definitely wear it again.

Happy Friday! Stopping in today to share two copycat recipes from our favorite resort chain. I love your outfit in today’s post. I am usually a Summer gal, but I am so over the warm weather at this point. I say, bring on Fall. Thanks for hosting and I hope. you have a wonderful weekend!

Aw, thanks so much, Jennifer! Fall was always my favorite season until the past few years. The older I get, the colder I get, so now I really enjoy the warmer months such more than I ever have! I hope you have a lovely weekend!

Shelbee, thanks for the visit and the link-up! We are still extra warm in East Texas, but I am OK with that, our cold season includes rain, which I personally could live without weather wise. Have a great week ahead.

Thanks, Melynda! I hear you on the rain. I do appreciate rain though because we need it but if I could avoid the rainy season that would be nice, too. Our rainy season happens in the early spring which leads to a very long mud season which is my least favorite season of all. I can’t keep up with the muddy footprints through my house! I imagine the rain in Texas also gives you mud. Ugh. Enjoy the summer while it lasts, my friend!

Very pretty kimono, Shelbee! I love the way you layered this outfit-perfect for late summer. I am not in a hurry for fall, either. I’d like to hang onto the warm weather as long as possible, especially these beautiful mild summer days of September. Thanks for sharing and hosting the link up. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Di, thank you so very much, my friend. Fall was always my favorite season and I couldn’t wait until it arrived. Until a few years ago. Now I think I could stay in summer all year long! I hope you have a lovely weekend!

Thank you so much, Joanne! Enjoy your beautifully perfect weather while it lasts! I sure am. Ralph had his first football game of the season this week and the evening weather couldn’t have been more perfect for football. Cool enough to be comfortable in a hoodie! I hope it lasts all football season! Have a wonderful weekend, my friend.

Cute look and perfect for the seasonal transition. Summer in my area (such as it is) tends to stick around until at least early October. We’re known to get a heat wave just as we’re thinking it’s time to switch over to sweaters. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Thank you so much, Rena! As much as I would love an extended summer here, warmer than normal summers that last too long tend to lead to extreme amounts of lake effect snow in the winter. We have never had a snow-free winter here…it’s either bad snow or worse! LOL I hope you enjoy the weekend as well, my friend.
