For this month’s Your Own Twist theme, Monica and I are bringing you some style inspiration for what to wear while on vacation, or staycation for those of you who prefer to just hang at home during the Summer months. Now onto the outfit…generally I am much more of a staycation kind of girl. That is until recently…I have acquired the travel bug. But travel is expensive so other than my recent trip to Asheville, North Carolina, the rest of my Summer travels will be within a few hours of home. But when I am just hanging around at home, I like to be comfortable and cool. Light layers are the way to go for me. And when it is really humid and sticky, I generally opt for loose fitting pants because that sensation of my skin sticking to itself completely grosses me out! I would never survive a Summer in the South. I don’t even really know how I survived a week in North Carolina in July.

Everything I am wearing in this post has been hanging around in my closet at least since last Summer, probably longer. This outfit is so not typical of what you generally see on my blog. Super casual and understated…not really how I roll! But sometimes a girl has got to just tone it down for a hot minute and take it easy. A nice relaxing break in the shade, not feeling too concerned about what I’m wearing. That is what vacation is all about anyway, isn’t it? Throwing our concerns out the window for a few days while we rejuvenate and replenish our energy source.
