About Songful Style Songful Style is an ageless style challenge series hosted by Suzy of The Grey Brunette, Shelbee of Shelbee on the Edge, and Marsha of Marsha in the Middle. For this series, each month we will share a song with the lyrics and video and we invite you to use whatever aspect of the song that inspires you to create an outfit. Home and Sewing Projects Updates & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up On the Edge #661
It is Friday and we are heading to Pennsylvania for a long family weekend in a few hours so I am going to share a lot of pictures with a lot less words for this post. I have been creating and updating and renovating and making over all sorts of things in my home and closet. My creative energies seem to be abundant and overflowing at this stage so I have just been embracing that spirit and riding the tide. So here are a few projects I have been working on around the house. I had finished my gypsy living room in April, but I needed to wait for warmer…

The Cowgirl in Me & Your Own Twist Link Up #58
“Cowgirl is an attitude, really; a pioneer spirit, a special American brand of courage. The cowgirl faces life head on, lives by her own lights and make no excuses. Cowgirls take stands. They speak up. They defend the things they hold dear. A cowgirl might be a rancher, or a barrel racer, or a bull rider, or an actress. But she’s just as likely to be a checker at the local Winn Dixie, a full-time mother, a banker, an attorney, or an astronaut.” Dale Evans, American actress, singer, songwriter, and cowgirl Well, if that is the definition of a cowgirl, then I am most certainly that! Nearly five years ago…

The Other Ugly Dress Transformation & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up On the Edge #653
Before I get to the second ugly dress transformation, I must first wish my amazing husband (and photographer) a very happy birthday! We will be celebrating both of our birthdays (mine is on Tuesday), as well as Memorial Day, quietly at home on this holiday weekend. We are expecting gorgeous spring weather which is perfect for a birthday holiday weekend staycation! And with such beautiful weather on the horizon, my mind is racing with spring and summer outfit ideas so I do think I will be playing some dress up and pretending I am a fashion model over the weekend as well. I also have to make the curtains for…

Style Imitating Art: Floral Forms by Emil James Bisttram
“Florals? For Spring? Groundbreaking.” Miranda Priestly, The Devil Wears Prada While it may not be all that groundbreaking, I do love a floral overload especially when spring finally arrives in the cold North Country, so I was very excited to style an outfit for this week’s art challenge. Keep reading for more details… About Style Imitating Art Style Imitating Art is hosted by Salazar of 14 Shades of Grey, Terri of MeadowTree Style, and Shelbee of Shelbee on the Edge. The Thrifty Six: The Long and Short of It
The long and short of it. It’s a phrase that I never use but when it came my turn to choose a theme for our next Thrifty Six style challenge, this 6 word string randomly kept popping into my head. I wasn’t even sure what it meant by definition, but it seemed great for a fashion prompt because it could be interpreted in so many different ways. What does it mean exactly? According to Merriam-Webster, it is a phrase we use “when making a statement that is brief and that tells someone only the most important parts of something.” It basically refers to giving the gist of something without sharing…
