The Thrifty Six in Winter Whites
The Thrifty Six is a group of international women with a passion for preloved fashion who meet once a month in our little space on the internet to share our thrifty outfits. On the third Monday of every month, we will all share an outfit based on a theme that features preloved wardrobe pieces. Shopping and reselling preloved clothing is so much better for the environment and you can find some of the best fashions in thrift or charity shops. The Thrifty Six are here to inspire you to shop second hand! This month, Jodie chose our theme of Winter Whites. We are not only a thrifty group but we are also a…

Gone to Carolina in My Mind & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up On the Edge #692
Tomorrow, I’ll be gone to Carolina in my car. It is time for my annual winter break solo road trip! The first part of my travels will begin early in the morning, not solo. I will have the kids in tow for the first 4 hours before dropping them off at Gramma’s house in Pennsylvania. Thank you, Gramma, for hanging with the children all week so I can journey on freely! Then a quick one hour drive to briefly see my sister, plan our sister-sleepover for the following week, and use her bathroom before continuing on for the final part of my Saturday driving. It will take about 3 hours…

Reminder: The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book-Western Boots & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up On the Edge #690
It is time for the next round of Good Buys and Good-Byes and the focus is on my favorite style of footwear, Western Boots! The fashion industry calls them cowboy boots but I much prefer the term cowgirl boots since I’m the girl wearing them. A Guide to Cowboy Boot Styles offers an easy to follow guide to the different styles of boots, the variety of toe shapes, the materials used, and the appropriate boot styles to wear for specific purposes and occasions. If you know me even a little bit, you know that I am a little bit obsessed with cowgirl boots. Of the six types of cowboy boot…

The Magnificent 8 are Celebrating the Year of the Dragon
As we are quickly approaching the start of the Chinese New Year, I thought it might be fun for my group of magnificently ageless friends to style outfits for the Year of the Dragon. Preparations for the new year begin on February 2 and last until New Year’s Eve on February 9. This first week is known as Little Year. February 10 marks the official beginning of the Chinese New Year with the Spring Festival lasting until February 20. Finally, arrangements begin on February 21 for the Lantern Festival which is held on February 24. Although I was the one who suggested the Year of the Dragon as our style…

Songful Style Link Party #23 | “Humankind” by Coldplay
Suzy dropped a really difficult style challenge in our laps with her January song choice of “Humankind” by Coldplay. I wasn’t familiar with this song so this was my initial introduction to it. It’s a catchy tune that has a pretty high level of earwormness but I admittedly did not understand the lyrics at all upon first listen. After doing some online research and gathering background information for my song introduction post, I began to gain some clarity on the type of sartorial craziness I wanted to stir up in my magical closet room. Once I discovered that the song is from a concept album set in a fictional planetary…

How BedStu Unbroke My Heart & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up On the Edge #689
Tuesday was our 14th wedding anniversary. Life has been so crazy hectic lately that the day passed us by without much pomp and circumstance. In fact, I think Jeff and I saw each other for a total of an hour during the whole day. We did have a few minutes early in the morning to exchange gifts. Sadly, I dropped the ball completely and Jeff ended up purchasing his own anniversary gift. I guess it makes up for all the Christmas gifts that I have purchased for myself over the years! But this post is not about my anniversary at all. I just wanted to take a moment to recognize…
