Star Gazing & Your Own Twist Link Up #35
Monica and I are back with our monthly Your Own Twist Link Up. This month we chose Start Gazing as the theme for styling our outfits. Star Gazing is one of my favorite night time activities especially in the summer months when you can lie on the grass and stare up into the vastness of the universe as it twinkles and shimmers and shines right back on you. While Star Gazing may seem like an odd style theme because you really could star gaze wearing anything you want or even nothing at all. If you do opt for naked star gazing, however, I recommend a thick layer of bug spray so you…

The Thrifty Six in Fool’s Gold
This month it was Nancy‘s turn to choose a theme for our thrifty group and she went for Fool’s Gold. The term fool’s gold originally referred to the mineral iron pyrite which has a metallic luster and a pale brassy yellowish hue often mistaken for actual gold. Eventually the term transitioned to an idiom that means a flashy but otherwise worthless investment. Kind of appropriate for a thrifty theme, I think. Not very many of my thrifted items have any value at all other than they are super cute additions to my very rich wardrobe! Perhaps a worthless investment but there is value in the way my new preloved clothing…

The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Stripes
Welcome to The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book! This is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book. A series that I co-host with Nancy where you can choose whether you want to share a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye (which is an item you are going to say good-bye to, previously known as a Bad Buy). Every month you can choose which item you want to submit. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide the theme for each month. Photos should be submitted to us by the 10th of the month with a few sentences explaining why it is a Good Buy or Good-Bye. The theme for August is Stripes, a classic print…

Yin Yoga Affirmations for Serenity & Link Up On the Edge #257
I want to thank you all for the wonderful feedback on my posts about the yoga affirmations and chakra practices that I have been incorporating into my weekly exercise and meditation routine. I have previously shared Affirmations for Confidence and Self Esteem (Solar Plexus Chakra), Affirmations for Creativity and Sensuality (Sacral Chakra), and Affirmations for Love and Compassion (Heart Chakra). I have been sharing each of these affirmation practices in no particular order as I choose my daily yoga practices based on what needs work on that particular day. Some days I stick strictly to strengthening and/or flexibility sessions which don’t include any sort of affirmation or self reflective work.…

Back to Work Styles | August Stylish Monday Link Up
The theme for this month’s Stylish Monday collaboration is Back to Work styles. Clearly, a back to work style can be pretty much anything depending on your work environment as well as your job duties. Some work places may require a uniform which limits one’s ability to get very creative with their workwear. Unless, of course, your work uniform is scrubs. I have seen some pretty fabulously creative scrubs outfits in my days. But there are no scrubs here today, only magnificently fun outfits for every woman to find some inspiration. And hey, if you do have some cute scrubs styles to share, do link them up at the end…

Family Trip to Niagara Falls with Trendhim & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #234
I promised last week this post was coming after I shared the first day of our family weekend trip to Buffalo, New York, to experience Jurassic Quest. The following day, we had a leisurely morning, waking when we pleased, enjoying breakfast at the hotel, and then we packed up, checked out, and headed to Niagara Falls which was about a 20 minute drive from the hotel. Jeff and the boys were so excited about seeing the falls. None of them had ever witnessed the magnitude of this natural wonder of the world. I was very excited to be with them to witness their reactions to the astounding beauty of what…

Reminder: The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book-Stripes
Between The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book and its predecessor The Bad Buy Book, Nancy and I have been joining together on a monthly basis for nearly five years with approximately 50 different style themes combined between the two series. Yet with 50 different themes, we somehow never featured that ever classic print of Stripes. Well, it’s better late than never and I assume that you all have something striped that you can share with us this month…whether it was a good buy or a bad buy that you will bid good-bye to, we want you to share it with us! What is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book? It is a monthly series…
