The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Easter Egg Colors & Link Up On the Edge #291
Welcome to The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book! This is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book. A series that I co-host with Nancy where you can choose whether you want to share a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye (which is an item you are going to say good-bye to, previously known as a Bad Buy). Every month you can choose which item you want to submit. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide the theme for each month. Photos should be submitted to us by the 10th of the month with a few sentences explaining why it is a Good Buy or Good-Bye. The theme for April is Easter Egg Colors. *If…

7 Tips for Summer Style Inspiration
Spring has finally arrived which means summer is not very far behind. In the world of fashion, spring is merely the pregame show for summer style but the last two years have been tainted by a tiresome pandemic which has drastically changed our style and limited our fashion choices in many ways. But I am declaring 2022 as the Summer of Style, a season filled with celebrations, barbecues, festivals, and travel, all calling for their own special fashions to make this summer one to remember. The change of seasons generally calls for a few wardrobe updates, but as we begin returning to a more normal way of living this summer,…

Spring Trends | April Stylish Monday Link Up
Fashion trends change as quickly as the seasons do. Except where I live, the trends change much faster than the seasons. Yes, we are still experiencing winter weather as we begin our Spring Break. And Spring Break is the time to start showcasing your favorite spring fashion trends. It was snowing yesterday but we are expecting a high today of 60˚F (15.5˚C). That’s a big jump from the sub-freezing temperatures I woke up to this morning. Once again, I am curled up in my fleece leggings and a sweatshirt with a giant blanket scarf wrapped around my shoulders to stay warm because heat is expensive with these crazy gas prices.…

Salty But Sweet in the Snow & Link Up On the Edge #290
Which do you prefer…salty or sweet? Both together? Or perhaps you don’t have a taste for either. If that is the case, what do you eat? Only bland foods that lack in flavor, I suppose. Well, let me assure you that there is nothing bland about me or my tastes…so I am a salty and sweet girl all the way. However, I don’t think my sweater is referring to culinary marinades or various other savory infusions. While it is supposedly referring to the personality traits of the person wearing the sweater, I am the first to recognize that I am not really a salty person at all. Unless really provoked!…

A Cozy Easter Outfit & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #269
While it did snow here in the North Country over this past weekend, it does not look anything like these photos which were taken back in the beginning of February. All the snow has melted now and it is getting warm enough to melt the snowflakes before they start piling up and forming snow mountains. But as the snow hits the warmer ground and melts away, it merely makes mud season that much muddier. I can’t say that I miss the snow accumulation all that much, but the trade off for mud is not much better. I got on a bit of white boot kick this winter but quickly realized…

Reminder: The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book-Easter Egg Colors & Link Up On the Edge #289
With Easter falling just two days after the next edition of The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book, Nancy and I chose Easter Egg Colors for the April theme. Easter eggs come in many different colors depending on your own Easter traditions. When I think Easter eggs, pastels and bright colors come to mind. So I am going to round up some of my outfits from the past that make me think Easter! What is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book? It is a monthly series that Nancy and I both publish on our blogs on the 15th of each month. Anyone who would like to participate and be featured can send us their photos with a…

Songful Style Link Party | “Leather and Lace” by Stevie Nicks and Don Henley
It’s time for the second installment of Songful Style and it was my turn to choose the tune! I picked a very special song and then pulled out some very special things that did not work out quite as planned. But before I get into all that, here’s a bit about this new style challenge collaboration with some of my favorite humans in all of blogland. About Songful Style Songful Style is a new ageless style challenge series hosted by Suzy of The Grey Brunette, Shelbee of Shelbee on the Edge, Michelle of My Bijou Life, Marsha of Marsha in the Middle, and Anne of Spy Girl. Each month we will share a song with…

Confetti Sweater & Link Up On the Edge #288
Are you all sick of my snow yet? I am. It is almost April, after all. I know that April showers bring May flowers for most of the northern hemisphere. But in my part of the world, it is more accurate to say that March snows followed by April showers simply brings mud season. No clever rhyming there. What rhymes with mud anyway? Nothing all that savory, to be honest. Also being honest, I shot these photos back at the end of January when we had much more snow on the ground. Right now, there are only few gray patches of filthy snow scattered at street corners and in a…

SIA Gallery of Style | Les Demoiselles d’Avignon by Pablo Picasso
You all know how much I love this Style Imitating Art series. Now that I have joined as a co-host, I have to admit that my favorite part is putting together the gallery post. I really appreciate everyone’s unique sense of creativity in interpreting the art and turning it into wearable style and the whole thing just makes my heart happy. And that’s what this is all about…making our hearts happy and allowing that contagion to spread all around us wherever we go. By the way, did you know that happiness is like 100 times more contagious than Covid? (I haven’t checked that statistic because I just made it up,…
