The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Sunshine & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up On the Edge #696

Bring on the sunshine, please! We have been oscillating between winter weather and spring weather for weeks with warm temperatures for a few days followed by snowy days and back to warm again. Like a great big nasty tease, this weather is. In an effort to get the sunshine to stay for longer than just a few days, we have invited you all to share your favorite (or least favorite) sunshiny things this month.

Welcome to The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book!

The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book is a monthly series hosted by Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style and myself. Every month, we invite you to share a photo or two of your Good (or Bad) Buy items that fit the stated theme. We ask that you also provide a short description explaining if the item you are sharing was a Good Buy or one that you will be saying Good-Bye to (formerly known as Bad Buys). Nancy and I will both publish a round up post featuring all of the submissions on the 15th of each month.

Anyone who would like to participate and be featured can send us their photos with a short description via email. You do not have to be a blogger to join. Anyone is welcome! We will give you the theme for the next month at the conclusion of each post. Photos will be due to us by the 10th of the month.

For February, we are featuring my favorite footwear, Western Boots! Otherwise known as cowboy boots, but I’m a girl so I call them cowgirl boots when they are on my feet.

Thank you to everyone who joined us this month. If you sent me a photo, but do not see it in my post, be sure to check Nancy’s post. If you don’t see your photo in either post, please let us know right away and we will add it. Sometimes the submissions can get lost in the shuffle.

“This blazer always reminds me of the sea. It’s printed with sailing boats and the buttons are marked with a anchor. The Breton tee accentuates the nautical them! The espadrilles were in the give away pile, but they aren’t anymore. They are actually very nice so what was I thinking? These are all Good Buy’s! Now that’s a win-win outfit!”

“This outfit is fun and a little whimsical, with the bright multicolored circle print of the skirt. I think the dot print is very sunshiney, so I would also consider it a good buy.”

“Finally a beautiful day of Sunshine for a walk on dry payment. Still some snow banks but Spring has arrived. Let’s not say Good-Bye to Sunshiny days!”

“The coming sun and sunshine always makes me think of spring blooms and this new, pretty green cardigan is just the perfect shade of green for spring. It might be brand new but I can already tell it’s going to be such a good buy. I just LOVE it! I paired it with some jeggings and a plain white long sleeve tee and a pretty necklace with all my favorite shades.”

“We just recently posted about our yellow jackets so your prompt was perfect timing. I bought this yellow leather jacket while thrifting over 7 years ago, and it says sunshine to me in every way. It’s been a great buy. I’ve worn it over and under things and continue to wear it even now.
Heck, even Lesley and my mom have yellow jackets which you can see on Nancy’s post.”

“My favorite sunshiny thing is this yellow ombré scarf that I thrifted in May 2020. I like combining it with other yellow items or any color in that sunshiny yellow/orange range. The ombré effect with a lot of different yellow shades in it makes it easy to blend to prints containing yellow as well.”

“I bought this beautiful bag on sale at Nordstrom Rack before my trip to Italy five years ago. Since then, it has accompanied me on every trip, as well as around town, day or night. It gained a second life after I had the strap repaired by the cobbler before my trip to Spain last summer.”

“This yellow floral dress was pretty, but I didn’t wear it often enough so I had to say goodbye to it.”
-Laura
And Me!
“Like Laura’s pretty floral yellow dress above, I love the color and print of this dress but I never felt very comfortable in it so I didn’t wear it often and have since passed it on. This dress was definitely not a Good Buy, but I wore it a few times anyway before saying Good-Bye to it!”

Up Next for April: Peach Fuzz!

Thank you to Anne for suggesting this next prompt, Pantone‘s color of the year for 2024.

“PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz captures our desire to nurture ourselves and others. It’s a velvety gentle peach tone whose all-embracing spirit enriches mind, body, and soul.
In seeking a hue that echoes our innate yearning for closeness and connection, we chose a color radiant with warmth and modern elegance. A shade that resonates with compassion, offers a tactile embrace, and effortlessly bridges the youthful with the timeless.”
-Leatrice Eiseman
Executive Director, Pantone Color Institute™

You are invited to join us in April to share your favorite (or least favorite) things in Peach Fuzz! It doesn’t have to exactly match the prompt, remember you can interpret these themes in whatever ways that suit you. So if it looks like Peach Fuzz to you, share it with us! Anything will do, we just like to see what you’ve got.

You are welcome to send two photos if you’d like to be featured on both blogs. Remember to include a brief description about your submissions. Please submit your photos and descriptions by the 10th of April to shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com or to info@nancysfashionstyle.com so we can put you in the spotlight.

*By joining The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book, you agree to receive a monthly reminder email for this series.
