The Boredom is Killing Me & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #196
I have completely lost my mojo in all things life recently. Seriously, I am the most unmotivated I have ever felt in my entire life. This pandemic has wreaked havoc on my mental health to the point that I literally cannot see past right now. Maybe that’s a good thing. It forces me to live in the moment, every single moment, because I can’t see past the now anymore. But the right now, in this very moment, all the moments are just the same…mundane and boring. That is not to say that I am unhappy. Not at all. I am an optimist by nature and can always find the good…

“To Thine Own Self Be True” & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #194
“To thine own self be true.” William Shakespeare Dee of Grammy’s Grid recently shared a post discussing the meaning behind this age old adage. In fact, that post was the most clicked from last week’s link party and is featured below. Her analysis of this quote as well as how its meaning has evolved over the past 400 years inspired me to dive a little deeper into this topic from my own personal perspective. But before I do, click over and give Dee’s post a quick read. She poses a few questions to contemplate on a personal level. These are Dee’s questions verbatim and I am going to do my…

Styling My New Tomahawk Shades & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #193
I am a girl who wears glasses. All day. Every day. Complete with prescription lenses that also include a bifocal. Because my eyes are as old as me, they need a lot of help to do regular things these days. Like reading, watching television, working on my laptop, driving, and well, seeing. I have had poor vision since I was 8 years old donning the ugliest 1980’s eyeglass styles you can imagine. Today, at 46 years old, if I am not wearing my glasses, none of you even have a face from my perspective. You would all just be shapeless blurry blobs of faded colors. With vision as poor as…

It’s All Just a Bunch of Hocus Pocus & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #192
I have my last tee shirt from Bellelily to share just in time for some Halloween fun! Except the shirt has sold out now! Boo. But Bellelily has a huge inventory of some of the cutest statement tees I have seen in a long while. If Halloween isn’t really your thing, check out what they have for Thanksgiving and Christmas and every other holiday that may inspire you. Disclaimer: This tee shirt was provided to me for purposes of this blog post. As always, all thoughts and opinions are entirely my own. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. It’s not Halloween quite yet and I have every intention of…

‘Tis the Season for Gratitude with Bellelily & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #191
As soon as October rolls around, I feel like we have to abruptly shift our mindsets into holiday mode. And I have to be honest, I hate holiday mode. I don’t like the commercialism. I don’t like the pressure to buy more. I don’t enjoy expectations placed on my time for the onslaught of celebrations and gatherings. And as much as I enjoy giving gifts to people, I really don’t like to be forced to choose something for the mere sake of giving a gift on a randomly designated day of the year, especially one that has drifted so far away from its original meaning. To be blunt, I really…

Meet Me at the Pumpkin Patch with Bellelily & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #190
I have another cute Bellelily tee to share today just in time for pumpkin patches and fall decorating. I wore this outfit last week on one of those early fall days that still feel like summer is holding on for something. Those kind of days present the rare opportunity for styling tall boots with a mini skirt and bare legs and still be comfortable. Disclaimer: This tee shirt was gifted to me for purposes of this blog post. As always, all thoughts and opinions are entirely my own. I added this Meet Me at the Pumpkin Patch T-Shirt to my recent Bellelily order and it is perfect for festive feels…

Thankful & Blessed with Bellelily & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #189
“Unhappiness is a contagious disease caused by a chronic deficiency of gratitude.” Mokokoma Mokhonoana I am a firm believer that one’s quality of life is directly influenced by one’s approach to life. We have very little control over the things that life throws our way and I have found that maintaining a simple roll with the punches attitude really works wonders in living one’s best life. By nature, we humans are a very adaptable species. Otherwise, we would not have survived as long as we have. While adaptability is paramount to our survival on earth, it is our mindsets and our perspectives that are most influential with regard to our…

The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Blazers & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #188
Welcome to The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book! This is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book. A series that I co-host with Nancy where you can choose whether you want to share a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye (which is an item you are going to say good-bye to, previously known as a Bad Buy). Every month you can choose which item you want to submit. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide the theme for each month. Photos should be submitted to us by the 10th of the month with a few sentences explaining why it is a Good Buy or Good-Bye. This month’s theme is Blazers. So let’s get right…

New Band Tees & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #187
When the whole world has gone wild, independent artists have found innovative ways to raise funds to support their art and careers. When we all went into lockdown in early spring, we saw so many musicians streaming free live shows from their homes in an effort to bring love and light and hope into our homes. These concerts were instrumental for my survival when the long weeks led only to unfulfilling weekends that looked much the same as the weekdays. Except, of course, when I was able to stream my favorite bands straight into my living room on any given Friday or Saturday night. These weekend shows certainly uplifted me…
