Outfits of the Day #ootd
I love to put together outfits. I find something calming and exciting in the process. And if I think I look good, I tend to feel great! Hopefully, you can find some inspiration here for feeling amazing in your own body.

The Fab 40’s Decode Street Style
Street Style: A comprehensive approach to fashion that produces styles that combine and intersect various mainstream fashion considerations. As a fashion blogger, I actually felt a little lost when Dee presented us with the theme for this month’s Fab 40’s collaboration: Street Style Decoded. Before I began blogging almost 5 years ago, I had never heard the term “street style” but it is a term that appears everywhere in the fashion industry. You will see it in abundance during fashion week events all around the world when “street style icons” are unsuspectingly captured on camera looking very cool and very intentional in their unique combinations of fashion trends. When presented with…

Inspired by La Moumous: White Jeans & Blue Button Down
I am trying so hard to get myself motivated and centered on the positive things in life right now. But with all the uncertainty that we are facing at this time, it is becoming more and more difficult to focus forward and continue on my journey into the future. For the past two weeks, I have allowed this uncertainty to completely block my creativity in both my personal style and my writing goals. And then yesterday morning, it suddenly occurred to me that I shouldn’t be so concerned with focusing ahead, but rather my attention should be concentrated on the very moments that we are experiencing right now. This is…

Friday Favorites 4 & Link Up On the Edge #187
Here we are on day I-don’t-even-know of world quarantine. In the interest of staying positive, I am going to share some of my favorite things. While many people may be experiencing extra down time at home, I actually have much less down time with staying on track with my own writing and blogging goals and home schooling my children. My silly little guys were under the impression that they were getting a 5 week vacation. Little did they know that mom and dad can be hard asses when we want to be! Actually, we aren’t being all that hard, but we are implementing structured days that consist of morning yoga,…

Wear Purple for International Women’s Day & Your Own Twist Link Up #18
It is time again for Your Own Twist which is a monthly series hosted by Monica of Jersey Girl, Texan Heart and myself where we showcase our own interpretations of a chosen style theme. We share the theme with you ahead of time in case you are interested in joining us. You can see the upcoming themes below if you would like to create your own post around the theme and share it with us in the link party at the end of the post. With all the current strife and worry in the world right now, Monica and I nearly forgot about our monthly link up. But in an effort to keep…

Journey into the Weekend & Link Up On the Edge #186
Y’all know I don’t often do straight up “what I am wearing” type of posts. But I have been trying my hand at some seriously deep thinking and philosophical writing this week that my mind might be too exhausted for sharing anything deep today. You will have to check out my profile on Medium to see some of the other things I have been writing. In case you don’t already know this little fact about me, I have my bachelors degree in Philosophy. I also majored in English with a minor in Religious Studies. I share this information because it evidences the fact that I have always had a passion…

Inspired by Nancy’s Fashion Style and Kathrine Eldridge Wardrobe Stylist: Leopard Print and a Musical Rabbit Hole
I know. I know. I just shared an outfit last week that was also inspired by my dear friend Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style. But I didn’t have anything prepared for this week and I have had these photos sitting around since the beginning of February. The outfit itself wasn’t actually inspired by Nancy. I created it all on my own. But then I remembered the way Nancy had styled a similar leopard dress back in December in her post, How Leopard Print and Faux Fur Works Together, and thought it might be fun to put the two outfits side by side. The juxtaposition of these two independently created outfits…

Moontide Arts & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #163
There’s an inviting little shop that has been a spiritual fixture in my small town for the past 20 plus years and I only just went inside this past Friday. Now I am kind of kicking myself for not visiting this mystical emporium sooner. In my defense, it had originally been tucked away in the back corner of the Franklin Building which I don’t frequent. So while I knew it was there and had heard wonderful murmurings about the shop owner as well as the goods she carried, I still never really had (or perhaps never really made) the opportunity to go in and see what it was all about.…

Pantyhose That Don’t Suck: Sheertex Opaque Tights Review & Link Up On the Edge #185
You know how I love my tights. I would wear them all year round if the temperatures stayed mild enough on both ends of the seasonal spectrum. I love the way they feel. I love the way they make my legs look. I love the way they erase all the little blemishes and dimples that appear on these 45 year old limbs. I love the way they accentuate that curve of the calf and the way they highlight the contour of the thigh. But there are a few things that I don’t love about tights. I don’t love if they are too tight or too loose around the waist. There…

Inspired by Nancy’s Fashion Style: What to Wear to Winter Parties
This post was inspired by my very dear friend, Dutch fashion blogger Nancy Baten of Nancy’s Fashion Style. If you are regular reader here, then surely you are familiar with Nancy as well. Nancy and I both began our blogs around the same time in 2015 and we became fast friends from across the world. Three years ago, we decided to join together and created a series, The Bad Buy Book, where readers were invited to join us in sharing bad buy items in their wardrobes. After one year of that series, we expanded it to also include good buys and that is when The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book was born.…

Women Inspiring Women with Dresslily
Widespread celebrations of women as a gender began in New York City in February of 1909 and became the focal point for the women’s rights movement. Soviet Russia declared March 8 as the official women’s day in support of the newly found women’s suffrage in 1917. Fifty years later, the worldwide feminist movement adopted the idea in 1967. By 1975, the United Nations declared March 8 as International Women’s Day, a day for commemorating the role of women in the workforce or working women in general. Some people acknowledge this day in protest while others simply celebrate womanhood. (Source) Each year, the United Nations chooses a theme to coincide with…
