Outfits of the Day #ootd
I love to put together outfits. I find something calming and exciting in the process. And if I think I look good, I tend to feel great! Hopefully, you can find some inspiration here for feeling amazing in your own body.

Spring Favorite (and My Husband’s Favorite, Too): Tee Shirt Dress and Sneakers
I have been seeing a bunch of posts featuring the most adorable tee shirt dresses paired with sneakers. And I find myself repeatedly commenting how this is one of my favorite outfits for spring and summer. Then I realized I never wrote a post showing how wear this combination. So here is my post! I wore this outfit a few weeks ago to take the kids to a local event called “Touch a Truck.” A small nearby town hosted this fundraiser event where they set up all sorts of vehicles for children to climb through and explore. There were fire trucks, a dump truck, a garbage truck, a paramedic van,…

5 Days, 5 Outfits, 3 Style Challenges
I think I have mentioned in previous posts that I like to use Instagram Style Challenges as inspiration for choosing my outfits on days when I have no idea what to wear. I see a lot of IG accounts which combine multiple style challenges into one outfit. It looked kind of fun to me so I decided to choose three different style challenges and combine them all into one outfit every day for the entire week (Monday through Friday). It was a bit challenging, but it certainly got me thinking outside of my personal fashion box. And I ended creating some outfits that I never would have otherwise. Some were…

Easy Like Saturday Morning
Yesterday morning, I decided I was not leaving my house and would get caught up on some blogging work. So I wanted to be comfortable but still feel like I was dressed. I recently found these adorable olive green shorts on clearance at Old Navy for around $10. And I have worn them 3 times in the past week for just lounging around. They literally feel like pajama shorts with an elastic, drawstring waist and loose fit through the thighs. I decided to pair them with a plain black tee and my black Madden Girl footbed sandals that I got last summer. It got a little chilly later in the…

Scarves are My Thing
Before I started blogging and was researching the entire process, many of my resources were suggesting that I find my signature style and be able to precisely articulate it. This was very difficult for me because I really do not fit into a neat little precisely articulated package in fashion…or in anything really. I like preppy styles. I like vintage fashion. I like current trends. I like bohemian styles. I like throwback hippie clothes. I like chic and sophisticated looks. I like structured pieces. And I like loose flowing items as well. I like shoes. Literally all shoes. I like necklaces and wearing them alone or layered. I only recently…

Two Days of Spring/Summer in the North Country
Here in the northern reaches of New York State near the Canadian border the winters are long and the spring/summer seasons seem to last merely a few days. Well, not really, but it sure can feel that way sometimes. And I’m not complaining, really, just stating the facts. Those who know me or have read previous posts know that I don’t mind the cold and chilly air of fall, winter, and spring in the North Country. And I don’t much like the heat. At all. In fact, once we creep upwards of 68 degrees or so, I start to get a little bit miserable. 70 degrees is just too hot…

Favorite Cropped Patterned Pants for Spring
These patterned cropped pants that I recently picked up at the New York & Company Outlet are quickly becoming my favorite pants for Spring. I wore the same pair in a coral paisley pattern on Mother’s Day and they proved to be comfortable for all day wear in a day in the life of a stay at home mom. That itself makes them great, but the adorable patterns and solid colors that are available makes them even better. Unfortunately, try as I might, I simply cannot find a way to view or shop New York & Company Outlet stores online. From my experience, the outlet inventory is very different from…

Here’s the Thing About Confidence…
I recently discovered this fabulous woman on Instagram…actually I think she may have found me first…and when I checked out her Instagram feed, I was so happy that she did find me. Her name is Rebecca and her feed is filled with words of kindness and an infectious confidence that you can’t help but feel equally great about yourself. This post was actually inspired by words she offered to one of her followers deep within a thread of comments. Yes, I was pulled in her by the beauty of this woman’s soul and could not pull myself away from reading all of the comments on her photographs. If you need…

My Happy Mother’s Day Paisley Pants
I am definitely feeling happy and inspired today on my 6th Mother’s Day. My kids are healthy and happy. My marriage is strong. We want for nothing. My technological issues are resolved. And I recently purchased the happiest pants ever. What is better than bright coral and a paisley pattern? Seriously, you can’t not smile at my pants. Well, at least I can’t. About a month ago, one of my oldest and dearest friends, J., and I went on a day long outlet shopping excursion at The Crossings Premium Outlets in Tannersville, Pennsylvania. We shopped until 9:00 p.m. and literally shut the place down. One of my favorite acquisitions from…

What I Wore Wednesday, the Craziest, Most Stressful, Bring Me to My Knees in Tears Day of the Week
Wednesday. Yesterday. I thought I had it all together. I finally published my first blog post since January and I was feeling motivated and ready to roll. My second blog post was on my agenda for the day. I drank my first cup of coffee and logged in to my website with a great big inspired smile on my face. Only to quickly discover that the universe and all of its technology had other plans for me. On Tuesday, none of my pictures since Saturday were loading onto my iCloud account so that I could access them via my laptop. Wednesday morning, everything was there, available, and ready for my…

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and All That Jazz
I have been absent from blogging the past two week due to illness, laziness, and holiday deployment depression. I always love the holidays and I still do, but there is a bitter sweetness this year. I want my kids to enjoy their Christmas and I absolutely love showering my loved ones with gifts, but I sort want it all to be over because that brings us a few weeks closer to J.’s return home from deployment. I hate that we are celebrating the major holidays without J. My kids are driving me crazy. I can’t wait for the Daddy to return home of relieve me of some of my parental…
