The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Rainy Days

Spring is starting to spring in the North Country but sadly we still have snow in the forecast this week. As much as I don’t like the rain that leaves us damp and muddy until May or June, I do welcome the warming temperatures that turn the snow into rain. So let’s have a look at what you all wear for those rainy days of spring.

The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book is a monthly series hosted by Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style and myself. Every month, we invite you to share a photo or two of your Good (or Bad) Buy items that fit the stated theme. We ask that you also provide a short description explaining if the item you are sharing was a Good Buy or one that you will be saying Good-Bye to (formerly known as Bad Buys). Nancy and I will both publish a round up post featuring all of the submissions on the 15th of each month.

Anyone who would like to participate and be featured can send us their photos with a short description via email. You do not have to be a blogger to join. Anyone is welcome! We will give you the theme for the next month at the conclusion of each post. Photos will be due to us by the 10th of the month.

If you sent me a photo, but do not see it in my post, be sure to check Nancy’s post. If you don’t see your photo in either post, please let us know right away and we will add it. Sometimes the submissions get lost in the shuffle.

“Here we were at a festival last summer, waiting for Alice Cooper to perform. It was so cold, terribly muddy and it rained all the time. And so this is how we looked, we went with friends. Gerben and I wore €1 capes that did their job very well. We always have a few of these in the car. They are absolutely a Good Buy! As I look at these photos, I have to say we look like condoms…lol.”

“These rain boots are great for more than just rain. I wear them often when we go exploring in weeds and such, where I don’t want to expose my ankles.
Who knew that rain boots would be so useful in the desert?”

“This navy polka dot trench coat from London Fog was a lucky thrift find about 5 years ago at Goodwill, marked at a ridiculously low price for such a coat in pristine condition. It is one of the best good buys in my closet. It’s my go-to coat in the spring once the weather warms up enough to move away from a wool coat. The navy color coordinates well with most things in my wardrobe, and the polka dot print is cheerful and fun.”

“I got these white vegan Chelsea boots new from Poshmark and they’re great. I specifically got them to use as rain boots and they fit the bill. They’re super comfy and keep my feet dry. Good buy! And only $22! (I forgot that they were so cheap!)”

“This clear dome umbrella was definitely a Good Buy. I had it for many years until it finally broke on me. Not only is it adorable but it really came in handy when I was coaching swimming in the rain. I could hold it way down over half my body and still be able to see the pool. I have replaced it with another clear umbrella but the new one isn’t as cute.”

I always wanted a clear umbrella. And then a woman I trained to become manager have me one as a present. I wore it once, gewerkt so exposed 😂😂 but I love them!

I love clear umbrellas! And I especially love the big dome shaped ones that come down really far over your body. If I bothered with umbrellas much these days, I might get a new one. But I have enough for practical purposes and that’s all I need right now!
