The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Mini Skirts & Spread The Kindness Link Up On the Edge #769

Welcome to the August edition of The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book where we are showcasing our love (or hate) for Mini Skirts (or mini dresses worn as skirts)!

The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book

The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book is a monthly series hosted by Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style and myself. Every month, we invite you to share a photo or two of your Good (or Bad) Buy items that fit the stated theme. We ask that you also provide a short description explaining if the item you are sharing was a Good Buy or one that you will be saying Good-Bye to (formerly known as Bad Buys). Nancy and I will both publish a round up post featuring all of the submissions on the 15th of each month.

Anyone who would like to participate and be featured can send us their photos with a short description via email. You do not have to be a blogger to join. Anyone is welcome! We will give you the theme for the next month at the conclusion of each post. Photos will be due to us by the 10th of the month.

If you sent me a photo, but do not see it in my post, be sure to check Nancy’s post. If you don’t see your photo in either post, please let us know right away and we will add it. Sometimes the submissions get lost in the shuffle.

“This skirt, just like the one on my blog, is only to wear at home. I would never wear this in public. These skirts are easy on a hot summer day, with flip flops and a tee. But if I had perfect legs, I would wear it like this. I have had these espadriles for ages and they never bore me. A denim jacket looks good on anything. The skirt is a Good Buy as I do wear it at home.”

“I acquired this SUNO knit mini back in the heyday of my Fashion Blogging days (2013?).
I love the knit pattern! This is a keeper, even if I don’t wear it that much these days.”

“This outfit is a sweet summer floral dress, worn with a boxy cropped 1980’s denim vest on top. I don’t think this dress would qualify as a true mini dress, more like mid thigh, but this is as short as I go! I would say it was a good buy. It has the loose, flowy fit that is so comfortable for summer. It is a good style for a short dress, since the skirt is full, and I don’t have to worry about it riding up when I sit down!”

“I attended an all girls primary school that had a standard uniform policy that everyone had to follow. I have nothing against mini skirts if you can wear what you want when you want. Our uniforms were more like micro mini skirts especially on taller girls. Besides being very ugly we had to pay for these out of our own pocket. These pleated skirts were very uncomfortable to wear especially on the public transit when coming and going to school. A lot of the time you would not sit down in public when wearing the school uniform mini skirt.”

“Yes, I wear a mini skirt as a mini skirt at times, but I thought I’d show you how I also love to be the boss of my clothes and wear it as a top. I’m showing it both ways.
This black mini skirt was a good buy because I’ve learned I can layer it and wear it in so many ways.”

“Here is my mini skirt! I know I have other photos, but I think they’re on my other laptop…the one I watch YouTube videos of drag queens on!  This is just your ordinary a-line denim skirt with a custom graphic tee. It’s my favorite quote from Wuthering Heights.  Mike also had that made into a poster for my birthday years ago. It hangs in our bedroom.”

Up Next for September: Joggers

You are invited to join us in September to share your favorite (or least favorite) Joggers. Joggers are generally considered sweatpants however the jogger style has been translated into a pant style that is not just for jogging and sweating! Joggers are characterized by loose fitting legs with elasticized bands around the ankles and come in many varieties from casual to dressier versions.

To join is for our Jogger prompt, all you have to do is take a photo or two and send them to us. You are welcome to submit two photos if you’d like to be featured on both blogs. Remember to include a brief description about your submissions and whether it is a Good Buy or a Good-Bye. Please email your photos and descriptions by the 10th of September to shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com or to info@nancysfashionstyle.com so we can add you to The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book.
