The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Eyelet & Link Up On the Edge #313
Welcome to The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book!
This is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book. A series that I co-host with Nancy where you can choose whether you want to share a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye (which is an item you are going to say good-bye to, previously known as a Bad Buy). Every month you can choose which item you want to submit. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide the theme for each month. Photos should be submitted to us by the 10th of the month with a few sentences explaining why it is a Good Buy or Good-Bye.
The theme for September is Eyelet. “Eyelet fabric is characterized by small patterned cut-outs that are typically finished with embroidered stitches throughout the body of the fabric.” (Source)
All sorts of apparel can be constructed from eyelet fabrics from dresses and tops to scarves, shoes, and hats. So we have asked you to join us in sharing your favorite (or least favorite) Eyelet things. We have no strict rules here really, we just want you to play along! So let’s get straight to it and have a look at all the pretty eyelet things.
*If you sent me a photo, but do not see it in my post, be sure to check Nancy’s post. If you don’t see your photo on either post, please let us know right away and we will add it. Sometimes the submissions can get lost in the shuffle.
Let’s see who played along this time!
Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style
Sheila of Ephemera
Amber of The Hungry Mountaineer
*Note: I think Amber meant to share this look for August’s Good Buy/Good-Bye Book featuring Beachwear and Resort Wear, but since she sent it to me in response to the eyelet prompt I am including it here.
Jodie of Jodie’s Touch of Style
Emma of Style Splash
Joanne of Slices of Life
Mireille of Chez Mireille
And Me!
Thank you so much to all the lovely ladies who joined us for this round up of Eyelet. Be sure to check Nancy’s post for more eyelet styles. Up next for October is Band Tees! Share your favorite (or least favorite) musically inspired tee shirts…old or new, anything will do!
Up Next: Band Tees
For October’s Good Buy/Good-Bye Book, we are featuring Band Tees. You can share with us your favorite musical preferences and groups by wearing them on your clothes!
You are welcome to send two photos if you’d like to be featured on both blogs. Remember to include a brief description about your submissions. Please submit your photos and descriptions by the 10th of October to shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com or to info@nancysfashionstyle.com so we can put you in the spotlight.
*By joining The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book, you agree to receive a monthly reminder email for this series.

I like eyelet because it’s pretty without being too girly. Love how our poses are similar! Fun fun!

Mireille, thanks so much for joining us! I love eyelet because I think it is the perfect amount of girly! Haha. I love that you noticed our similar poses! That is actually how I choose which photos to use in the cover collages…I try match up similar ones because it looks better! I hope you have a lovely weekend, my friend!

I love the eyelet converse. And the nods to Barbiecore!
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Thanks so much, Lauren! I keep seeing references to Barbiecore and while it is self explanatory, I do need to go read more about it. I am intrigued but definitely not sold on this trend (well, for me personally)!

I know you won’t be at all surprised to learn that I don’t own any band tees at all! LOL. Your eyelet converse are so cute.

Thanks, Joanne! I actually am a little surprised! No band tees??? Not a single one? In your whole house? Even if it’s not yours! Hahaha.

Eyelet shoes!! OMG how fabulous is that?? Of course, you can always dye them another color at some point too. I just love those and I’m going to keep at eye out for a pair like that.

Oh my goodness, Jodie, you are so freaking brilliant! I could dye them a different color when they get too dirty or I just get tired of the white. Thank you so much for sharing that fabulous idea! Also thanks for joining us!

Great roundup of eyelet, Shelbee. Everyone has shown how lovely this motif can fit into any style or personal taste. And I’m sorry to have missed out on sharing a couple of my favorite pieces. I’ll be sure to share my GB/GB band tees next month.

Mica - Away From The Blue
Oh the eyelet Converse are so cute! I really like them! i don’t actually have any eyelet in my wardrobe which is a shame, as you’ve shown here it’s a very versatile fabric!
Thanks for the link up. Hope you are having a lovely day 🙂
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Thanks so much, Mica! Eyelet is so pretty and very versatile, too. But I think it is definitely more of a spring and summer fabric than winter and fall. I just found a red eyelet sarong that I made years ago. It was in a bin underneath my guest bed with some random childhood items. Very strange. I should style it for fall over leggings. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Daenel T.
Loving all the eyelet pieces. I had no idea Converse made eyelet sneakers. Cute.
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Thanks, Daenel! I have searched all over the internet to find these eyelet Converse somewhere, but they are so old that I can’t find them. I guess they only made them for a short period of time and maybe I was the only one who liked the eyelet! Haha. I hope you are having a wonderful weekend, my friend!

Jessica A Jannenga
Love seeing the eyelet pieces on everyone! Kind of an ode to the end of Summer as I certainly associate it with that too . I have a few pieces, myself. Such pretty pieces and I love the sneakers with eyelet, a bit unexpected!
Hope you have a great weekend!
jess xx
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Thanks, Jess! I thought eyelet was a fun way to say goodbye to summer, too. I have probably a dozen pairs of Converse but these white eyelet ones are definitely my most worn pair. They are super comfortable and perfectly broken in and go with everything! I hope you also have a wonderful weekend, my friend.

Thank you so much for hosting those parties and for featuring my blog🙏
Would you sell your wonderful Converse to me?😁
XO,
Chajleen
shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com
Thank you, Chajleen! It was my pleasure to feature you. Rather than sell you my eyelet Converse, I will just pass them onto you when I am done with them! They are getting kind of gnarly though so you might not want them! Hahaha.

Emma, thanks so much for joining us! I have searched and searched for eyelet Converse online, but I cannot find anything. They must not have been very popular when they first came out. I am glad that I found them and scooped them up though!
