7 Parenting Tips to Consider When Transitioning from the Infant to Toddler Phase
It has been a few years since we have experienced the transition from infant to toddlerhood in our home. In fact, we are now at the transition from elementary to middle school. How in the world that happened so quickly I cannot say, but I do recall the infant to toddler transition being one of the more challenging parenting phases I have had to face. So with Mother’s Day just around the corner, I figured why not share some tips that I have learned along the way that might be beneficial to some new moms reading. Monica, I’m thinking of you! The infant to toddler phase is not only a…

Easter Weekend Highlights & Link Up On the Edge #292
I am wildly behind on all things in my life right now so I am going to share some highlights from spring break and Easter weekend and then I need to prepare for another night away this weekend. On Satruday, we are taking the kids to the Strong Museum of Play in Rochester, New York. I am excited to see the National Toy Hall of Fame and the boys (old and young) are really excited to check out the World Video Game Hall of Fame. I will share about that experience in the next week or two. For now, here are some holiday highlights… The first few days of spring…

Look Alike Day & Your Own Twist Link Up #43
You might be wondering about Look Alike Day. You also might be thinking that Monica and I look nothing alike in that cover image. Although Monica and I have inadvertently dressed alike for previous Your Own Twist themes (my favorite time was when we both wore giant unicorn heads), this time we were not meant to look like each other. National Look Alike Day happens every year on April 20. I do not think it is a coincidence that it falls on 4/20 because it is the silliest of silly holidays but it is also one of the best holidays. This holiday celebrates those individuals who look like another person.…

The Thrifty 6 in Bold Monochrome
We finally had a few reasonably mild days where I could bare some skin for outdoor photos which worked out perfectly for our April Thrifty 6 style theme. Lucy has chosen bold and bright monochrome which is easy to do with a solid colored dress and accessories in the same color family. I realize that I have been styling lots of pink for these thrifted challenges recently, featuring the color in pastel for February’s Tickled Pink theme and a super vibrant shade of pink to Brighten Up January. The trick with these thrifted challenges is that the piece that is meant to satisfy the chosen theme should be preloved. But…

Welcome to The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book! This is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book. Every month you can choose which item you want to submit. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide the theme for each month. Photos should be submitted to us by the 10th of the month with a few sentences explaining why it is a Good Buy or Good-Bye. The theme for April is Easter Egg Colors. *If…
