Return of the Frankenstein Dress & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up On the Edge #727
Do you remember the Frankenstein dresses that I made last summer? Archie coined the term “Frankenstein dress” because I take parts of other garments and combine them to make a new and different garment. Similar to the way that Dr. Frankenstein took parts from other bodies and put them together to create his monster. This is another Frankenstein dress from last summer’s projects. I still have another one that I haven’t even worn yet. For this particular upcycle project, I used this graphic tee shirt from four years ago and a brown knit maxi skirt that I have had forever. I don’t think I have ever successfully styled this skirt…

Adventures in Thrifting Part 17: Plaid Waterfall Vest & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up On the Edge #726
I am falling back on my old reliable adventures in thrifting today because I have been so busy, y’all. Busy and lazy. If that’s possible. I guess in the little down time I have between all the busy, I really just want to be lazy, so I am. I have had Carolina on my mind and in my heart recently and have been sending prayers daily to everyone who has been impacted by hurricane season this year. To honor my beloved Smoky Mountains, I am featuring this adorable plaid waterfall vest that I picked up in a thrift store in North Carolina when I went on my road trip in…

Why Motion Sensor Lighting is a Must-Have for Garage Security
I know this is not a typical topic covered on my blog, but I think it is an important one considering the recent increase in home and garage trespassing in my town. A little extra security certainly helps with one’s peace of mind. When it comes to securing your home, it’s easy to overlook the garage. But think about it, garages often store valuable items from vehicles to expensive tools, making them a target for potential thieves. So, how can you improve your garage security without overcomplicating your life or spending a fortune? The answer is simple: motion sensor lighting. If you haven’t considered it before, today’s climate on petty…

Weekend Date in Troy, New York & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up On the Edge #724
The in-laws were visiting last week to attend Archie’s football game and we took full advantage of their stay by booking a weekend getaway in Troy, New York. Troy is a really quaint town of about 51,000 people located on the eastern bank of the Hudson River in the Capital District of New York State. It is approximately 140 miles southeast from where we live and took 3 hours to drive there. We were blessed with beautiful weather for the whole weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our driving time together as much as all the other things we did. Troy, New York, is the home of Samuel Wilson, who is known…
