Retro Floral Autumn Blossom Dress & Spread The Kindness Link Up On the Edge #774
Do you remember my burnt ochre dress from last summer? The dress that I loved so much I initially bought it in three different patterns/colors…the solid burnt ochre one, the black Batik Suns printed one, and this Retro Floral Autumn Blossom printed one. In fact, these dresses are so comfortable and so flattering that I have since added two more like it…a solid black one and my most recent addition called Bella Jaco Deep Black. But let’s talk about this whimsical retro floral print that I found completely irresistible. The vintage vibe of this bright orange and pink floral pattern really appealed to my old hippie soul so naturally I…

The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Joggers
For September’s edition of The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book, we are getting cozy and comfy in our favorite (or least favorite) Joggers. The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book is a monthly series hosted by Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style and myself. Every month, we invite you to share a photo or two of your Good (or Bad) Buy items that fit the stated theme. The Thrifty Six are Inspired by Gucci
It was Emma’s turn to choose the theme for this month’s thrifty style prompt and she definitely presented me with a challenge. I have never been one for high end designer brands like Gucci so I never really follow the seasonal runway trends put forth by luxury fashion designers. But I do pay enough attention to fashion in general to recognize that many designers and brands eventually emerge with trademark prints and patterns, specific color combinations, and certain style aesthetics. For example, Chanel style has been characterized as elegantly modern, known for classic tweed skirt suits, the little black dress, monochromatic color palettes, and their widely recognized double “C” logo.…

Last Days of Summer & Spread The Kindness Link Up On the Edge #773
With the official calendar ending of summer happening in just 10 short days, I am whole heartedly hanging on to my summer wardrobe. The temperatures have been milder than normal for this time of year and I am embracing it. Our 10 day forecast is showing all sunshine with temperatures fluctuating from the 50s at night to the 70s and even 80s during the day time. It truly is the perfect weather. Now if it could just stick around until November or December or even all year round, I would not have very many weather complaints at all. But alas, I know too well that winter always comes to these…

How to Make Recovery Footwear Fashionable & Spread The Kindness Link Up On the Edge #772
Back when I was younger, I sacrificed much comfort in the name of fashion. My feet were no strangers to 4 inch heels as I sauntered myself on stilettos all around New York City in the early 2000s. The weather never hindered my sense of style either. It was high heels or nothing. I was never one of those women who wore practical shoes like sneakers to get from one place to another and then changed my footwear once I had arrived my destination. It seems silly and stupid to me now as I reflect on all the shoes that were ruined by inclement weather and all the aches I…
