OOFOS for Glass Feet & Spread The Kindness Link Up On the Edge #771
Considering the many, many times that I have suffered from broken bones in my feet, I am now thoroughly convinced that my feet are made of glass. I have mentioned these fragile floor flappers of mine in multiple blog posts and have shared stories of broken toe bones from as far back as high school. The slightest stub of a toe results in a break at a frequency of about 7 out of 10 times. I would estimate that I have broken toe and/or other foot bones on average of twice a year for the past 35 years. So that’s like 70 breaks. I often wonder how mangled my feet…

Adventures in Thrifting Part 20: Floral Print Mixed Outfit for Style Imitating Art
Do you remember my last Adventures in Thrifting post from July? I featured this exact same dress in dark blue with a white print and I mentioned that I had previously scored another red floral dress at the same thrift store that was the same brand and style just without the few buttons at the neckline. The dresses are all by Chaps, which is a lifestyle brand owned by the Ralph Lauren Corporation, sold by various retailers and department stores. I have owned some Chaps clothing over the years and have found the quality to be really good but rarely did I find the styles to be in tune with…

Front Porch Makeover: Phase 1 Complete & Spread The Kindness Link Up On the Edge #770
Heading into the weekend of July 4, I decided to give my front porch a makeover. The wood was starting to look a bit too weatherworn for my taste and I figured a fresh coat of paint would cheer it up while also offering some weather protection for the aging wood. I actually believed that I could complete this project over the course of the 3 day weekend but I very quickly recognized that this was a crazy impossible goal. In fact, it turns out that this painting project is so big that I need to complete it in phases. Phase 1 was all about getting the paint onto the…

How Can You Match Hair Extensions to Your Hair Undertone for a Natural Look?
Choosing hair extensions that blend seamlessly starts with understanding undertones. Cool, warm, or neutral hair undertones affect how colors appear against the skin and determine which shades look most natural. Matching extensions to the hair’s undertone creates a consistent, balanced look that avoids harsh contrasts. To find the right match, you should assess hair color in natural light, focusing on the mid-lengths to ends where extensions will blend. Cool undertones pair well with ash or beige shades while warm undertones look best with golden or honey tones. Neutral undertones can work with a wider range but still benefit from subtle tonal alignment. Blending techniques, such as layering multi-tonal extensions or…

The Thrifty Six are Unbuttoned
It was my turn to choose our thrifty theme and I settled on Unbuttoned. Because the word has various meanings and is subject to interpretation, I thought it would be an interesting sartorial prompt for this budget friendly group. According to Merriam-Webster, unbuttoned can mean simply that something with buttons is “not buttoned” but it can also mean that there were no buttons to begin with. A third definition of the word unbuttoned is “not under constraint : free and unrestricted in action and expression” which really relates to my style aesthetic as well as that of most fashion forward people. Unrestricted expression is at the heart of how I dress, how…
