The Thrifty Six are Ballerina Inspired
It was Nancy’s turn to choose our thrifty style theme for May and she really threw me for a loop with Ballerinas. Although I do love a good tulle skirt, I have never really been a ballerina type of girl. In fact, I have only allowed myself to start dancing where other people can see me in the last few years. Before that, just the idea of dancing any dance was completely out of my comfort zone. Maybe I would bounce around my house a little here and there, but in public places I would merely sit and watch all the other people having a great time moving their bodies…

The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Birds & Feathers
Welcome to The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book! This is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book. A series that I co-host with Nancy where you can choose whether you want to share a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye (which is an item you are going to say good-bye to, previously known as a Bad Buy). Every month you can choose which item you want to submit. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide the theme for each month. Photos should be submitted to us by the 10th of the month with a few sentences explaining why it is a Good Buy or Good-Bye. The theme for May is Birds and Feathers. *If…

Happy Birthday, Cheese God & Link Up On the Edge #295
We celebrated Archie’s 11th birthday this past weekend, a week late due to some scheduling conflicts. My children’s birthday cakes have become a thing of jokes and humor ever since Ralph’s coronavirus cake back in March of 2020. I have never been one to throw big elaborate birthday parties for my children. I have kept it simple with pizza and cake at my house since the beginning. But I have always indulged their silly cake whims and therefore I splurge on the cake from our favorite local baker who shall remain unnamed and untagged in this post upon her request. We both recognize that Archie’s “Cheese God” cake may be…

3 Things You Can Do to Honor Your Fallen Soldier on Memorial Day
Memorial Day is more than just the unofficial start of summer. It is a day to honor and pay respect to those who have died while serving our country in the armed forces. For many families and friends of fallen soldiers, Memorial Day weekend may be the only time each year they set aside to gather and commemorate their loved ones, but you can still honor your family member or friend in other ways throughout the year. Consider the following three ways that you can honor your fallen soldier so that they are never forgotten. 1. Tell Their Story One of the best ways to honor your fallen soldier is…

10 on the 10th: May 2022-10 Things You May Do This Summer & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #274
I am joining my dear friend Marsha in the Middle today for her 10 on the 10th series. Each month, Marsha announces a theme to inspire a list of 10 things to be shared on the 10th of each month. I have never joined before because I can never quite get my act together in time to do it. But I remembered this month, marked my calendar, and decided that I could and would get my act together this time. So without further delay, here are 10 things that I may do this summer. However, many of these are already planned so I am doing them unless some unforeseen incident…

What We Wear Underneath It All | May Stylish Monday Link Up
As indicated by the title, the theme for this month’s Stylish Monday link party is What We Wear Underneath It All. We were able to choose whatever angle we wanted for this theme. Since I am no stranger to writing underwear reviews or sharing pictures of myself in my underwear, I was happy to share my newest discovery in the world of undergarments. If you are interested, you can read some of my other underwear posts here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here. That’s a lot of heres which means a lot of underwear posts. But I do wear underwear every day so why not share them?…

The Value of Settling into Your Own Style
For many people, fashion is a means of expressing who they are and how they are feeling as well as making a visual statement of their personal taste. I can give you a list of reasons about how redemptive fashion is to the spirit, why it is so important, how it can help us look at ourselves in a new light, why it allows you to relate to others better, and how investing in yourself and your appearance is important. But if you simply just want to look good for the sake of looking good, that is also a good enough reason for settling into your own personal style. You…

My Favorite Loungewear with the Apron That Keeps It Clean & Link Up On the Edge #294
I have been wanting to share my favorite tie dye loungewear and this vibrant linen apron for a few months but I have just been so busy recently that these photos sort of ended up being forgotten. But then I remembered them! And since I am still lounging in these same tie dye leggings, tee shirt hoodie, and cardigan and I am still cooking in my vibrant linen teal apron, I might as well get sharing now. First let me tell you about my new linen apron. Do you remember my hemp and cotton sheet set from Atlinia that I shared back in December? Well, those sheets are still as…
