The Fab 40s in Candy Crush
Last month, the Fab 40’s finished out our four month series on Elemental Styles where we created outfits inspired by the four classical elements, Water, Earth, Fire, and Air. Mireille had joined us for the Fire theme as the newest member of this Fab 40s group and now that we have finished the elemental series, it was her turn to choose a theme for outfit inspiration. She chose Candy Crush based on the match three puzzle video game that has been ever so popular on cell phones and other mobile devices for nearly a decade. For those of you who may be unfamiliar with this colorful candy inspired game, it…

When Lightning Strikes, the Universe Pays Back & Link Up On the Edge #259
I have been struggling for weeks to get on top of blog posts and photographs, but I just can’t seem to get there. It has been a rather trying few weeks after the family health emergency that took us out of town two weeks ago. The health scare is under control but I don’t like to reveal any more details about that since it’s not my health to share. But I do want to share the story of that weekend and the chain of events that culminated from it which put me on an emotional roller coaster of a lifetime. But sometimes when lightning strikes us, the universe ends up…

Celebrating Six Years of Blogging with Ever Pretty & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #237
Six years ago today, I hit publish on my very first blog post. I was so intimidated by the idea of sharing my thoughts in writing with an audience that I didn’t know. In fact, I didn’t think I really would ever have an audience at all. But I wanted to share my journey and my life experiences in a creative way that may inspire others who are walking similar paths. Not wanting to get too deep into the really uncomfortable topics that I often like to approach, my first post was about Church and Church Appropriate Attire. If you have been reading along with me over the last six…

My Road to Cozy Earth & Link Up On the Edge #258
Have you heard of Cozy Earth yet? I have been seeing commercials and ads everywhere touting the benefits of these premium bamboo products that assist with creating a healthy and comfortable sleep environment with their temperature regulating bed linens and their super soft loungewear. My road to discovering the wonderful benefits of this brand is a rather serendipitous one and I would like to share it with you. Back in the late winter and early spring months, I started seeing lots of blogger friends sharing posts about Cozy Earth loungewear. We were all still in stay at home mode and cute, comfortable, quality loungewear was the best thing to hit…

Star Gazing & Your Own Twist Link Up #35
Monica and I are back with our monthly Your Own Twist Link Up. This month we chose Start Gazing as the theme for styling our outfits. Star Gazing is one of my favorite night time activities especially in the summer months when you can lie on the grass and stare up into the vastness of the universe as it twinkles and shimmers and shines right back on you. While Star Gazing may seem like an odd style theme because you really could star gaze wearing anything you want or even nothing at all. If you do opt for naked star gazing, however, I recommend a thick layer of bug spray so you…

Trendhim Giveaway & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #236
Happy Tuesday, everyone! I am keeping today’s post super short and sweet because we have been unexpectedly taken out of town and I just can’t seem to get my head around writing. So for today, I just wanted to share a quick reminder about a giveaway I have going on. When Trendhim reached out to me for a collaboration, I asked Jeff if he was interested. Needing a new backpack, he jumped right on board and chose the Lemont Green Foldable Backpack. We women are always talking about feeling and looking our best in our clothing and making a statement with our personal style choices, but I think we often…

The Thrifty Six in Fool’s Gold
This month it was Nancy‘s turn to choose a theme for our thrifty group and she went for Fool’s Gold. The term fool’s gold originally referred to the mineral iron pyrite which has a metallic luster and a pale brassy yellowish hue often mistaken for actual gold. Eventually the term transitioned to an idiom that means a flashy but otherwise worthless investment. Kind of appropriate for a thrifty theme, I think. Not very many of my thrifted items have any value at all other than they are super cute additions to my very rich wardrobe! Perhaps a worthless investment but there is value in the way my new preloved clothing…
