The Fab 40s are Inspired by Earth
“The Earth is what we all have in common.” Wendell Berry Last month, Suzy had chosen Water as our inspiration to create an outfit for the Fab 40’s. We had so much fun with it and received a lot of wonderful feedback so we decided to continue on using each of the remaining three elements for the next three months. This month was Ada’s turn to choose and because she is a Taurus which is an Earth sign, she has chosen Earth as our inspiration. Recently, I have been doing a lot of yoga that focuses on chakra realignment and connecting with the elements which has led to me thinking…

47 Years and Counting…Can I Make It to 150?
Today is my birthday. Somehow I have survived 47 years on this planet amidst a sea of seeming insanity. However, despite all the challenges that life dumps in front of me, I would still like to live to maximum life expectancy. Before I was 30, I was absolutely convinced that I would not ever reach that milestone birthday. I lived a lost and reckless life back then and spent more time in the throes of depression and anxiety that was certain to eventually take my…

Memorial Day Outfit Idea: Seersucker and Floral & Link Up On the Edge #246
Memorial Day weekend is upon us so I wanted to share a fun outfit idea to show my patriotism as we celebrate and honor all the United States military lives that have been lost in defense of our great nation. As much as I love the combination of red, white, and blue, it is one that I find myself wearing more often during the summer months when we celebrate our most American holidays here in the United States. It starts with Memorial Day in May which leads to Independence Day in July with summer finally coming to an end on Labor Day in September. This is certainly the season in…

Forty years ago today, just four days before my seventh birthday, my favorite person in the whole world was born and I didn’t even know it. But I am grateful for it every single day. Happy, Happy Birthday to my amazing husband, Jeff. This year has been full of wonderful milestones for him. He has retired from the Army after 22 years of active duty service. He is starting a new job in the civilian world that he absolutely loves. He just turned 40 and that’s a big deal! And he is rediscovering himself in the context of not-a-soldier which is a really beautiful process to witness. I can’t wait…

Adventures in Thrifting Part 10: Shades of Blue, Big Earrings & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #224
I haven’t been thrift shopping in a few weeks, but I have a pile of really cute dresses that I picked up the last time I made my thrift shop rounds. I am all about loose flowing lightweight dresses when the weather starts to get warm. They are so comfortable for all day wear. And when I am just hanging around at home, which I usually am, I can remove my bra and let the girls swing free underneath and no…
