Drop the Judgments and #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #20
As I was deciding the angle I wanted to take for this week’s #SpreadTheKindness post, I stumbled upon a Facebook status of a friend which said this: The shit that I’m passionate about is not dumb. And then it hit me what I needed to write about today in an effort to continue spreading kindness in this crazy world. We all have things that we are passionate about. Each and every one of us is unique in the combination of our different passions. Some are passionate about music. Some sports and exercise and healthy eating. Some clothing and fashion. Others are passionate about art, books, and crafting. There are people…

Naturally Yours Dress and #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #19
I want to share with you today another purchase from my little shopping trip to Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, over the Easter holiday. I recently showed you my adorable new starfish necklace from that trip in a post from last week (purchased from The Gem Shop). Today, I want to show you this fantastic dress I purchased from a beautiful little clothing boutique called Naturally Yours located right in the heart of the historic Jim Thorpe shopping area. *This is not a sponsored post. All items were purchased by me for me. All thoughts and opinions are my own. And all are in an effort to keep kindness alive in this crazy world. This…

Lula Love & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #18
As many of you already know, my weekly #SpreadTheKindness Link Up really is all about just that…spreading kindness. And each week I try to share something in a way that is me just spreading some kindness. After my pretty intense post from yesterday (the response was completely overwhelming, in a good way, particularly on Facebook), I actually am finding myself quite mentally exhausted today! So I am going to simply share some Lula Love with you all! I am sure most (if not all) fashion bloggers reading this know of LulaRoe. Probably any woman reading this who has shopped for clothing in the past 12 months know the brand as…

To Dye or Not To Dye and #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #17
To dye or not to dye? That is my question. Do you or don’t you? I do. Oh, I do. And I have for most of my life. Here’s the scoop. I dyed my hair various shades of bright colors (green, red, blue, pink, purple) way back before it was cool. In fact, during my teenage years, I was labeled as a weirdo with my ever-changing rainbow locks. My genetically predetermined hair color was a boring shade of brown and I hated it. And as much as I hated it, I had an equal and opposite reaction in my love for dying my hair unnatural colors. Call it rebellion. Call…

Feeling Like An Old Hippie and #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #16
There is a story behind this outfit and how it came to be be. On Saturday, I smashed my toe on the little trampoline that has made its home in the middle of my living room. It was a toe stubbing that made witnesses cringe. However, after about 60 seconds of eeking and owwwing, the toe was fine. Then on Sunday, I stubbed the same toe on some flattened moving boxes that were propped against the couch. This time the stubbing was not so bad. However, after about 10 minutes the pain began to worsen and the thought crept into my head, “Hmmm…this toe feels broken.” About an hour later,…

Love Will Prevail and #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #15
Love will prevail. These are words I spoke last week and it really got me thinking about what that means exactly. I was chatting with another mom and I was complaining about how exhausted I am parenting alone for the past 3 months while my husband has been away. And she replied with equal complaints about how difficult it is parenting with a partner who is there in body but absent in every other way. She went on to explain that maybe they were just in a rough patch and it would pass. They are 13 years into their relationship and 8 years into their marriage with two kids. They…

My St. Patrick’s Day Post and #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #14
With St. Patrick’s Day this week, I thought I would share with you a festive outfit that was photographed a few weeks ago. Honestly, it has been so cold here that I have not taken an outfit photo since last week. And now we are sitting in this crazy blizzard that is currently hitting the northeastern United States. So I have been basically wearing jeans, sweaters, snow boots, and a giant down-filled, fur-lined puffer coat if I have to leave my house at all! I have worn this black and white maxi tee shirt dress on the blog before but always in the warmer weather (here and here). But I…

Feeling Seussical & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #13
March 2 marked the birthday of Theodor Seuss Geisel, more famously known as Dr. Seuss. My children’s schools are celebrating all things Dr. Seuss for the entire month of March, so I thought I would honor the great man by sharing with you my favorite Dr. Seuss book and a very Seussically-inspired outfit! Marvin K. Mooney Will You Please Go Now is the book that my father used to read to me every time we would visit the dentist’s office when I was a child. I was terrified of the dentist and it was his way of calming me. There was a very beat up copy of this book in…

#SpreadTheKindness Link Up #12
Thanks to everyone who joins my #SpreadTheKindness movement every week. I really appreciate your continued support! And your favorites from last week… Susan of Over 50 Under 20 shared some amazing Shopping Tips inspired by another fabulous blogger who has previously been featured in my link ups…Julia of When the Girls Rule. These are some really helpful tips especially the last one… “SIXTH, and most important, when you’re in the dressing room and you try on something that doesn’t work, repeat to yourself, ‘It’s not me. It’s the clothes.’” Linda of A Labour of Life shows in her very own adorable way that you can wear whatever the heck you…

Feeling Whimsical with Rosegal & #SpreadTheKindness Link Up #11
Merriam-Webster defines whimsical as lightly fanciful or subject to erratic behavior or unpredictable change. The dichotomy between these two separate definitions just gave me a right hearty chuckle. While I am feeling lightly fanciful in this adorable lacy dress from Rosegal, I am simultaneously suffering from yet another whimsical decision made by the Army! Any member of the military or their dependents reading this knows exactly what I mean. Yes, my friends, the Army is classic for its erratic behavior and unpredictable changes. And we members of the military community suffer all too often at its whim! *Disclosure: This dress was provided to me for review. All opinions and thoughts…
