Welcome to The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book…Featuring Wide Legged Trousers for September.  

Thank you to all the wonderful folks who join us each month. We appreciate you! 

The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book is a monthly series hosted by Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style and myself. Every month, we invite you to share a photo or two of your Good (or Bad) Buy items that fit the stated theme. We ask that you also provide a short description explaining if the item you are sharing was a Good Buy or one that you will be saying Good-Bye to (formerly known as Bad Buys). Nancy and I will both publish a round up post featuring all of the submissions on the 15th of each month.

Anyone who would like to participate and be featured can send us their photos with a short description via email. You do not have to be a blogger to join. Anyone is welcome! We will give you the theme for the next month at the conclusion of each post. Photos will be due to us by the 10th of the month.

If you sent me a photo, but do not see it in my post, be sure to check Nancy’s post. If you don’t see your photo in either post, please let us know right away and we will add it. Sometimes the submissions can get lost in the shuffle.

“This is one from the archives. But how I loved these trousers. It was more the combination of the trousers and the blazer that I loved so much. I received a lot of compliments over this outfit. I haven’t got the trousers anymore, they were worn out. What a pity! A very Good Buy!”

“You want BIG? Hahahahaha. This photo is from 2012. I bought those GIANT jeans circa 2000 on the Venice Boardwalk. I held on to them until last month ‘because SO much denim to refashion’. Never did happen. Put them up on Poshmark and sold them (and another pair) immediately. In fact, the person who bought them keeps DMing me, asking if I’ve found any more. (I do have one more pair, and may have already destroyed them for art projects).Pro tip: if you have any Y2K giant jeans, sell them on Poshmark!”

“These are my new favorite jeans. I’ve always loved a flared/boot cut leg on jeans and while I have embraced other trends along the way this style is my favorite. These particular jeans are such a soft denim and have lots of stretch and give making them a really comfortable pair of pants as well which is always a win in my book. They have been such a good buy. This time of year it’s not always cool enough for pants but paired with a tank top and some sandals I make it work.”

“I love, love, love wide leg pants! I am a child of the 70s when we wore true bell bottoms, and some of them were basically skirts on each leg! These wide leg pants are some of my favorites because they’re so colorful!”

“I bought these green embroidered bell bottoms from a boutique in Asheville, North Carolina, a few years ago. They fit like leggings on top with a super swishy flare at the bottom. I loved them so much that I bought them in gray the next time I visited Asheville. I was thrilled that the boutique still had them in stock. Good Buys for sure!”

You are invited to join us in October to share your favorite (or least favorite) Long Cardigans. We featured long cardigans in a previous Good Buy/Good-Bye Book, but that was over 5 years ago so we are starting to repeat some themes.
